Splunk’s Information Technology Solutions (ITS) organization has launched a multi-year Agile journey. We are looking for an experienced, driven, and creative Agile Coach that has experience in coaching teams through the successful adoption of Scrum, Kanban, and Jira across both business and technical organizations. Additionally, with experience as an Agile Program Manager, you will partner with the Agile Strategy Lead and Lean-Agile Center of Excellence (LACE) to drive process improvement, governance and standards to support this transformation. What You'll Be Doing:
- Partner with Agile strategy lead, LACE, other Agile coaches, and Change Management to complete the ITS Agile transformation
- Provide Agile coaching and training to cross-functional teams, Scrum Masters, Product Managers, Agile change agents, functional managers, and the PMO
- Develop and deliver customized training programs for ITS and business partners that accelerates adoption of Agile and Jira
- Collaborate directly with development teams to mentor and guide them on the mechanics of Lean and Agile methods to achieve efficient team efficiency
- Understand and support implementation of Agile metrics to optimize delivery of OKRs/KPIs through the assessment of responsiveness, quality, productivity, and customer and business value
- Mentor/Coach and partner with program managers to identify areas of opportunity for continuous improvement using feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.)
- Coach/Mentor teams, LACE, Agile change agents, and Communities of Practice (CoPs) to improve collaboration, self-organization and innovation
- Guide, mentor, and coach teams on emerging Agile and Lean methods
- Contribute to PDLC process improvements by soliciting feedback, updating documentation, and coordinating rollouts
- Identify roadblocks that challenge the move to Agile and either call out, mitigate or resolve
- Help drive cross-functional alignment and decisions required across ITS’ programs and projects
- Participate in both the internal and external Agile community to stay abreast of challenges, leading practices, and emerging trends; apply findings in furthering the effective use of Agile practices at Splunk ITS
- Embrace servant leadership and displaying the behaviors that come from the adoption of Agile principles to cultivate a collaborative environment
- Promote Agile and technical learning within the organization by proactively seeking out and leading a variety of learning opportunities such as Communities of Practice, conferences, classroom training and independent study to further develop self and community
Requirements & Qualifications
- BA or BS degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems
- 5+ years of experience as an Agile Coach
- 5+ years’ experience leading large enterprise programs
- Certified Agile Coach certification(s) and expertise and certifications in one or more Agile methodologies and technical proficiencies from ICAgile or Scrum Alliance
- High-proficiency in implementing programs using the Atlassian Suite of Tools, including Jira and Confluence (Atlassian Cloud experience a plus), Planview, and Smartsheet:
- Experience handling vendor contracts and relationships
- Expert understanding of agile methodologies, principles, and practices, with demonstrated success driving all levels of the organization to higher productivity and efficiency
- Proven track record of coaching, delivering training, developing presentations, and facilitation skills, with experience doing each of these in a remote environment
- Sufficient flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast paced environment including modifying practices to create a practical migration to Agile
- Expertise and experience with Agile release planning and quarterly planning
- Actively participate in the Agile/Lean community, internal and external to Splunk
- Have experience with enterprise software and cloud technologies in an IT organization
- Expert at decision-making, consensus building, resolving sophisticated cross-functional team issues, building a collaborative and transparent environment of mutual respect, and conflict management
Knowledge/skills:
- Knowledge of and experience with successful Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and eXtreme Programming (XP), and one or more scaling methodologies, and their respective practices
- Can influence and affect change at all levels of the organization without having positional authority, with experience communicating at the Executive level
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly articulate and express sophisticated ideas to a wide variety of people and groups
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, & timemanagement skills
- Familiar with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Familiarity with Project management Software applications
- Excellent team building and coaching skills
