Job Description
The Ringer is seeking an experienced candidate to assist in the booking of talent, specifically for The Ringer Podcast Network across its slate of shows. This individual will be responsible for working with our internal Talent Booker to source, secure and confirm interviews and ensure the experience is seamless. The ideal applicant should have relationships and experience communicating with talent, managers, publicists and reps across the sports and entertainment community. Most importantly, the candidate is passionate, has an enthusiasm for sports and pop culture and has experience with booking for a broadcast platform, (i.e. TV, Radio and podcasts).
What you'll do
- Identify, source, and confirm talent in-line with show needs
- Work with show staff on deadlines and communicate regularly with updates
- Stay up to date on the news cycle within entertainment, news and sports
- Collaborate with show teams to coordinate timely, impactful guests and react to breaking news.
- Act as a conduit between publicists, managers and show staff to coordinate and confirm bookings.
- Establish and maintain relationships with agents, publicists, and managers
- Maintain an extensive database of contacts within the industry
- Collaborate with new shows as they continuously develop and assists the show team with any talent booking needs and ideas
- Liaise with outside booking agency
- Proactively pitch guest ideas to show teams within news cycle and relevant sports schedule
- Track all talent bookings from request through completion
- Work within timelines and structure of show staff
Who you are
- 5+ years related experience working in sports media or broadcast industry
- Must be available to meet booking needs whenever they arise
- Willingness to travel
- Familiarity with the sports scene is a must
- Talent booking experience
- Experience forging relationships with agencies, publicity firms and managers
- Professionalism and high level of discretion
- Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Preferred Experience Includes: Strong athlete and management relationships, understand talent booking nuances and processes
- Familiarity with the Ringer
