An individual in this position will work as an Attitude Determination and Control Officer (ADCO) flight controller and serve as a technical expert for the International Space Station (ISS) Motion Control Systems. ADCO Flight Controllers are responsible working in a partnership with Russian controllers to determine and manage the station's orientation, controlled by the on board motion control systems. This position also plans and calculates future orientations and maneuvers for the station and is responsible for docking the ISS with other vehicles. ADCO Flight Controller are work in the Mission Control Center (MCC) at Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston Texas. These individuals are also responsible for training astronauts, cosmonauts, and peers on those systems. Personnel will be expected to complete NASA led flight controller and instructor certifications for this area of expertise.
Individuals in this position will support evening, night, and weekend shifts. This position interfaces directly with the NASA customer, subcontractors and international partners and are expected to have an awareness of the company's competitive position and the impact of failing to meet schedule or quality requirements.Basic Qualifications:

• A Bachelor of Science in Engineering (ABET), Math, or Physics from an accredited college in related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.

• Candidate must be able to obtain an Public Trust clearance from the customer.

• Knowledge of engineering principles and the ability to apply them to real-time operations is essential.

• Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, leadership, teamwork, technical, and administrative skills are mandatory.

• The candidate must be able to work in a dynamic environment that requires him/her to work effectively both alone or as part of a team.

• The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to plan, lead, and coordinate a wide range of tasks.

• The candidate must possess the ability and willingness to attain an ISS Attitude Determination & Control (ADCO) flight control certification.

• The candidate will also be required to pass a standard flight controller physical examination, pass security clearances and be able to travel.

• Previous experience with or coursework in basic engineering, orbital mechanics, and spacecraft flight dynamics is highly desired.
