Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Marketing Manager is responsible for driving the execution and reporting of projects on the 0207’s roster. It is their responsibility to create, deliver and manage outstanding marketing campaigns for our UK and international releases
The B-Side: Skills & Experience
Be Strategic - Create and manage marketing plans related to 0207s designated artists, projects, and activities. This to include emphasis going forward on powerful pre-launch phases to maximise impact and awareness
- Plan multi-platform advertising campaigns with the media agency, to effectively utilise the budgets of each release
- Be prepared to adapt job, role, and requirements to suit an ever-changing music landscape
- Be on top of new trends and techniques to execute the best and most forward-thinking campaigns for the roster
Be Creative - Understand and communicate a clear vision of the artist’s brand with the artist & all internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and initiate innovative ideas for merchandising opportunities
- Responsible for ensuring all creative aspects of the campaign sync with the artist’s brand well, along with taking creative leaps when necessary to ensure artist growth
- Developing creative ideas to benefit the artist’s brand and campaign including artwork, styling, experiential, commerce, brand and more
Be Collaborative - Work closely with the label – A&R/Digital/ Video/ Content/Press/Promotions/Sales to deliver connected and cutting-edge strategies across our roster of artists
- Work with marketing director, digital, the streaming/commercial lead and the central insight team to plan and execute a regular market research programme to inform campaign planning, timing, excellence, and longevity
- Work closely with the marketing & commercial team to undertake operational and creative responsibility for the artist releases and product launches
- Build consensus within the company through use of diplomatic and presentational skills to maximise the internal dynamic
- Ensure all information is accurately communicated to all departments regarding release plans, changes, developments etc.
- Working closely with the entire team, artists & managers and regularly communicating key marketing information and targets to internal and external partners
- Identifying a project’s strengths and weaknesses and communicating to senior management and stakeholders and coming up with solutions.
- Forging strong working relationships with artists, artist management, marketing colleagues and territories across the Universal business.
- Working closely with the supply chain team for planning and scheduling of physical and digital products.
Be Financial - Managing budgets and ensuring they are adhered to on all marketing campaigns
Be Organised - Breaking new acts into the UK & international markets, coordinating timelines, assets, content, retailer pitching, and marketing spend
- Initiating and planning media spends, influencer campaigns, producing content and overseeing the entire running of the artist campaign
Be Digitally Savvy - Devise effective and innovative digital campaigns in conjunction with the audience team, integrating all elements of digital activity into each campaign
Be Culturally Curious - Our success stems from the culture in which it comes from, awareness and deep understanding of the culture our artists come from and what they represent
- Understanding of the key players within the culture and ability to create campaigns that work authentically within the market

Be Analytical - Closely monitoring data and performance of assigned artists singles and projects noticing and reporting back trends within our campaign
- Knowledge of chart reporting and forecasting of the chart
- Aware of market trends and their effect on our campaigns
Be Operational- Initiating new releases and videos at the request of Marketing Managers & Marketing Director
- Liaising with marketing, designer, and artist/management to deliver, copy check, and facilitate approval
- Liaising with external suppliers
- Canvas promo quantities from TV, Radio, Press and Club Promotions
- Sales notes for album releases
- Making sure ad copy is delivered to advertisers, in conjunction with designers
- General administration (invoicing, filing, ordering stationery/CD stock)
- Data Analysis, reporting on streaming activity and playlisting as requested by marketing managers within Universal's Artist Portal
- Maintain marketing campaigns in UmusicBox
- Attend gigs; assist on facilitating after shows + showcases
- Ensuring that all Artists birthdays are acknowledged
- Any other reasonable duties as required by the marketing team
Be Administrative- Maintain marketing updates and timelines for meetings
- Work with Video Admin to ensure all new videos are logged in BAM and serviced to the project team and third parties
- Budgeting in Uniport; including approving quotes, raising POs etc.
- Sourcing and ordering any merchandise or special items
- Ordering any POS needed e.g., flyers, stickers, posters
- Coordination of in-stores and other artist sessions
- Coordinating Planning Meetings
- Assist in, if required, digital, outdoor, TV and Radio ads
- Organising MPE retail blasts
- Creating assets for style/ album
- Weekly updating of competitor release schedules
- Arranging travel
- Co-ordinating showcases with the Marketing team
- Booking cabs/couriers
- Ticket ordering for gigs on behalf of Marketing team
- Answering calls for team if not at desk
