Job Description

This position develops and authors technical information used by internal employees, technicians, and customers to use, maintain, and repair Harley-Davidson motorcycles and related products.

The job duties include researching product changes. This requires being able to use and understand change notices, Bill of Materials (BOM), CAD models and part/assembly drawings. This position will require working with Developmental Service Engineers (DSE) and subject matter experts to develop, review, and validate procedures on vehicles and components.

In this position you will work in a team environment to collaborate on shared topics and support the collective timing goals for Harley Davidson product launch activities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient in file management as well as MS Office and Adobe creative suite software
  • 3 years of experience demonstrating basic mechanical ability including knowledge and safe use of hand tools to disassemble and assemble vehicles, parts, and components
  • 3 years of experience related to electrical diagnostics
  • Experience developing/working with wiring diagrams
  • Understanding and comprehension of technical literature related to mechanical/electrical systems
  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience
  • Read, comprehend, and understand engineering documentation (CAD drawings, Engineering Specifications, and Harness/Blue Prints)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of computer-based publishing of technical content including XML (or HTML) is preferred
  • 2 years Technical Writing experience
  • Proven experience creating Service information
  • Proven experience creating Electrical Diagnostics
  • 3 years of technical experience working within the Powersports/Automotive industry
