Product Sales Manager - Aerospace & Defense market

Souriau-Sunbank is a global leader in highly engineered electrical interconnect solutions for harsh environments for customers in the aerospace, defense, industrial, energy, and transport industries. The business has a workforce of approximately 3,200 people and manufacturing facilities in France, the Dominican Republic, India, Morocco, Mexico, and the United States.

As Product Sales Manager (PSM), you will manage all commercial aspects for a assigned customer portfolio in the Mil-Aero market according to the Interconnect Technologies Division (ITD) Sales Strategy.

You will develop business compliant Sales and Product design-in within the agreed perimeter according to established objectives using mainly direct sales and from time to time distribution sales channels.

You will represent the company within the customers & target accounts, and be a spokesman for the customer within ITD, you will achieve the best relationship and service for the Customer and commercially for ITD.

You will set proper commercial agreements for the customer and the Company and coordinate the interface for all relevant departments of the Company within the customer’s organization.

The PSM reports to the “Airframer” Sales Manager within the EMEA Aerospace & Defense Sales organisation.

The PSM will work with various structures within the group: Marketing (product managers), the Operations (Logistics, Pricing, Quality), Legal, Strategic Marketing, other Sales structures and CSR teams.

The PSM is in relation with our clients (OEM/CEM and some Distributors), engaging the discussions with representatives at different levels.

Main missions:

  • Locally implement ITD sales policy under proper guidance of the management.
  • Achieve perimeter direct bookings/billings objectives.
  • Manage his NBO pipeline and maximise the conversion into Wins (Value Creation) thus reinforcing ITD’s position in the marketplace and increasing market share at the right profitability.
  • Visit/contact the customers and targets on a regular basis in accordance to the Sales & Mkg plan with measurable design-in wins and incremental sales results.
  • Negotiate LTAs for improved business development (NDAs, Frame agreement, Supply contracts, logistic agreements,etc) in coordination with management & HQ Legal Dpt
  • Establish /maintain strong relationship with Key Accounts, identify key influent people in the Customer’s organisation (Purchasing, R&D, Quality, Supply Chain) and organize yearly meeting to share respective strategic vision and ensure alignement
  • Inform the company of the major facts in his sector: organisation chart, competition behaviour and prices, market trends, new programs and business opportunities.
  • Actively involved in the pricing strategy for his quotes (with CSR teams & BU), follow-up all offers and report status information to Management. Subsequently update perimeter NBO-pipeline & CRM.
  • Make and submit forecasts (3M rolling & FY Landing) and activity reports (Weekly) according to the established requirements and agenda.
  • Coordinate with other sales staff that are working within the market segments, and fully support transverse and global sales objectives.
  • Help Customer Credit Department, if required, for the recovery of possible over-dues and solving of locked situations of customer accounts.
Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • Proven 7/10 years experience of and real aptitude for products and markets with a high technical content (components, Emech,....)
  • B2B sales experience gained in that sphere of activity or within an industrial enterprise or a specialised Distributor, possibly in diversified harsh environment application segments.
  • Previous experience in a similar mission (4/5 years minimum) including dual channel market approach.
  • Experience in Multi-culture/Multi-sites organisation would be an advantage
  • Ability to listen, understand a situation/environment and recommend and communicate solutions;
  • High negotiation skills
  • An enquiring disposition, curiosity and pragmatism
  • Ability to analyse and summarise information
  • Organisational skills, home office based (autonomy & self-discipline required)
  • Must:
    • be familiar with electrical/mechanical components/environments
    • possess sound technical knowledge (Due to a wide applications versatility)
    • have some knowledge of the Group’s markets.
  • English in addition to native language (Spanish or Italian). French would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with MS Office and similar business tools (CRM like).
  • Ability to travel according to local and company rules.
  • Valid driving licence required
