Role:

The Learning Experience Designer must have a passion for people and design thinking, building and curating artifacts and resources and delivering relevant L&D experiences that support Splunk’s learning and leadership goals. In this role, you will collaborate with a team that is responsible for crafting innovative and impactful learning experiences that will enable our leadership community to drive high-impact teams and support all Splunkers in their development and career goals. The outcomes you will support can fundamentally change and reimagine the future of learning & leadership in a digital-first environment.

This person will be responsible for Splunk’s Onboarding Suite. This will include a comprehensive redesign of our current New Hire Onboarding program and building our Leader Onboarding program from the ground up. By using design thinking methodologies, you will conduct research to understand the user experience and best in industry practices, define a problem statement, ideate on a range of creative ideas and solutions, build prototypes, conduct user testing and deliver our products to market. This will also include curating and designing resources for functional onboarding to ensure Splunkers have the necessary resources to navigate their first few months with the company.

Responsibilities

  • Build strategy for overall onboarding portfolio that includes needs analysis per segment (Splunker, Manager, Leader), roadmap, and success metrics
  • Identify the learning outcomes and create a learning journey based on the data
  • Develop highly valuable and consumable content and validate the relevancy, accuracy, and accessibility of published content and/or products
  • Develop and document audience segments, the learners experience, and create custom-built learning materials
  • Partner with L&D International Leads to identity regional needs and augment/localize materials as appropriate
  • Assist in building and managing end-to-end learning experiences by ideating, curating, prototyping and implementing modern, human-centric products
  • Assist in defining and implementing success measures to determine program effectiveness
  • Apply effective instructional design strategies to create experiences that focus on different ways to deliver and deploy learning in alignment with defined goals and objectives
  • Identify opportunities for content additions, redesigns and innovations to continuously improve the customer learning experience
  • Work in lockstep with the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion team to seamlessly integrate their critical initiatives, concepts, and latest research into our products
  • Be the go-to for answers to questions about the program(s) you oversee while managing your overall portfolio and ensuring relevancy
  • Using design thinking methodologies to translate learning into experiences using a data driven approach toward goal setting and outcomes
  • Displaying fluency in using modern learning and HR technologies (Learning Management Systems and Learning Experience Platforms) and authoring tools such as Articulate 360
  • Participate in change management and Go to Market activities to help drive program awareness and adoption
  • Curate and build learning experiences that support other integrated employee experience touchpoints (e.g., career mobility, performance management, talent review)
  • Perform vendor management activities such as selection, SOW management, assessment and evaluation of off-the-shelf content solutions

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years’ experience in a Learning & Development function
  • Role model and advocate for a modern learning mindset (i.e., learning through an environment that provides comprehensive, unified experiences, exposure, and education)
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, written/verbal presentation, and the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
  • Experience managing projects from conception to implementation; comfortable leading and running multiple projects with ambitious timelines, resources, and priorities with a global mentality.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and to “fly the plane while you’re building it!”; and can manage uncertainty of change in an agile environment
  • Shows proactive self-leadership through goal orientation, accountability, and passion for driving business-driven outcomes
  • A strong desire to test and learn, includes a comfort with failure and a desire to iterate and improve
  • Must have a strong executive presence and ability to make strong connections with team
  • Facilitation skills a plus
