The Learning Services department at Instructure plays a huge impact in classrooms across the world as we help educators and school leadership transform education with Canvas, MasteryAssessments, and Elevate K12 Analytics. You will have an opportunity to help make teaching and learning easier as a Learning Experience Designer. The role of a Learning Experience Designer is to support our clients’ goals in using the Instructure Platform of products through the development of asynchronous learning experiences that go beyond what the buttons do in the user interface by blending learning science and user experience design. Our asynchronous, or On-Demand offerings, provide real application examples, best practices, and tips to use the Instructure Platform of tools in the most powerful way possible. Learning Experience Designers use their teaching or educational leadership experiences to craft content to meet the needs of educators. They have knowledge of how human cognition works and how we learn from experience to help our customers adopt and deepen their use of Instructure products. Learning Experience Designers create, update, and customize various learning experiences through video, images, and text within Canvas LMS which are human-centered, goal-oriented learning experiences.
About You:
- Eager to problem solve and can gain proficiency with new software or new functionality and then quickly turn around and train others on that software.
- Passionate about designing and developing in a collaborative setting, compelling and innovative learning experiences that improve individual outcomes and deliver measurable results.
- Action-oriented and adept at dealing with ambiguity.
- Enjoy uncovering client needs through listening tours, survey results, and research.
- Positive growth mindset and is energized by building services from the ground up
- Ability to thrive in a remote working environment.
- Have a willingness to receive and eventually provide coaching, mentoring, and assistance to both full-time project team members as well as contractors to promote high-quality deliverables.
- Skilled at creating training/learning materials for different delivery modes.
- Exhibit flexibility and high adaptability to change with a positive and collaborative attitude.
What You Need To Know/Have:
- Bachelor's Degree in education, educational leadership, instructional design, or educational technology.
- Have an advanced level of Canvas experience, bonus if you have experience using Mastery Connect.
- Experience creating storyboards and scripts.
- Skills in video creation and editing using Camtasia or similar software.
- Knowledge of transformative educational technology practices.
- Be able to work remotely and manage time efficiently managing multiple projects.
- Have a strong, fast and reliable home wifi.
- Have a quiet location to be able to record audio.
- Strong project management skills to lead a concept from inception to execution.
