AMD is seeking a dynamic, strategic and creative public relations professional to join our world-class communications team as the company continues to grow and expand into new markets. The person in this position will be responsible for collaborating with product and marketing teams to set and execute the communication strategy and ongoing media relations programs and campaigns.

The ideal candidate must be highly self-motivated with a record of success in B2B communications. Applicants must be able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, have excellent communication and writing skills, and be comfortable asking questions and making decisions. This position will have significant exposure to senior leadership within the organization.

As a member of the Global Communications team supporting the Adaptive and Embedded Computing Group (previously known as Xilinx), you will work cross-functionally to create communication materials and execute media campaigns and launches that drive positive coverage with journalists and influencers across industry, technology, and business publications. We need a great communicator who can understand complex issues and technologies and explain them through well written press materials, including press releases, blog posts, media alerts, proactive pitches, FAQs, and more.

Responsibilities:

• Build and sustain communications programs for multiple industries / business units (e.g., data center, industrial IoT, AI, aerospace & defense, etc.)
• Collaborate with product and marketing teams in a variety of public relations activities, ranging from product launches, media briefings, events, reviews programs, and thought-leadership campaigns
• Develop strategies and own day-to-day execution of media relations activities in industry-focused publications and at industry events
• Build relationships, educate and influence technology and industry press, analysts, and other influencers
• Manage awards program, speaker submissions and 3^rd party releases
• Help manage budgets and invoice processing

• Minimum 5 years of technology-related PR experience (in-house or agency)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong ability to prioritize between numerous high-profile projects and responsibilities
• Demonstrated skill in building relationships with technology reporters and editors
• Experience preparing and supporting company spokespersons for media interviews
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach to achieving results
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills; quick on your feet
• Ability to think “big picture” and work cross-category with other AMD businesses
• Self-motivated; sense of accountability and ownership
• Strong attention to details; solid organizational and project management skills
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related fields

Preferred:

• Understanding of the semiconductor industry and technologies
• Established media relationships in semiconductor, enterprise, data center/cloud or telco industries
