Grow with us as a Design Manager
Your main challenge as a Design Manager at Xylem is coaching, mentoring and developing the engineering team (4 direct reports). Moreover, with a hands-on mentality you manage and execute different design/engineering activities on for example Godwin Pumps and Drivers, Packaged Godwin Units, special orders. We seek someone to inspire our employees and work together with towards our joined goal at Xylem: Creating a world without water problems. Let’s solve water, together!
Your Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
- Coach, mentor and develop employees, including overseeing new employee’s onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
- Overall responsibility for quality, manufacturability, technical documentation, product safety and ESH for owned designs.
- Create modular designs for the packaging of standard Godwin pumps and drivers
- Active involvement in new designs for packaged Godwin units
- Manage the engineering activities (costing, BOM, design, component selection, documentation, production engineering e.t.c) required for special orders to meet expected manufacturing timescales.
- Support customers, operations and supply chain (Technical Inquires, Quality issues etc.)
- Owner of the ECR Kanban Board and PLM Change Process
- Support the Department head in the development of the technical product roadmap
- Work with and initiate continuous improvements within own area
- Responsible for the administration of Engineering Systems used in the department (PLM, CAD, e.t.c)
- In addition, support other tasks within the company.
What we seek in our new Design Manager
Professional skills
- Master/Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent working experience. We ideally seek someone with relevant experience/exposure in diesel engine driven equipment, but are open to more diverse engineering background.

The role is predominantly site based, with the possibility on the longer run to do hybrid home/site-based working.
