JOB PURPOSE:

This position will perform in-depth analysis, internal control and ensure the integrity of financial information for various companies in the consolidated group. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Director of Accounting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with month-end closing, including preparing and entering journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Analyze and prepare variance analysis for internal monthly financial statements.
• Identify, research and resolve corporate accounting, auditing and operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with the accounting standards of the companies to be managed
• Facilitate support to the Tax Department for the fulfillment of the obligations in this area.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Have at least 4-6 years of accounting experience.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP.
• Possess analytical and technical skills to develop financial models using various software packages.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Knowledge of ERP systems : Netsuite (preferred but not required), SAP, Navision.
• Previous experience with Portuguese and Brazilian accounting.

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Must have exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Able to productively work in a fast-paced environment independently, or within a team.
• Excellent oral/written communication and problem resolution skills are required.
• Successful candidates should be highly motivated, self-directed, proactive, and have the ability to work effectively under pressure and time constraints with a positive attitude.
• Ability to understand a complex business model.
• Prior experience in a high transaction volume environment.
• Proficiency in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
