Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a focus on serving our members. We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.

About the role:

You will lead project teams to strategize and implement a portfolio of technology projects that span across Insurance Operations and other important partners. You will have end-to-end oversight and management of joint solution design with all partners, solution development, and post-implementation reviews with a focus on creating efficiency and scale.

You will report to the Associate Director, Insurance Operations. This is a remote / work-from-home role. You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington. Note, this list of states is subject to change.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with project sponsors and Insurance Operations teams to design and manage technical operations roadmaps, Indicator definitions, detailed work plans, resource needs, budget and timelines
  • Lead technical project teams and the end-to-end management of system implementations (such as platform integrations, data feeds, rollout of new technology interfaces)
  • Analyze project risks, develop recommendations for risk mitigation and communicate mitigation options to management and partners
  • Be proficient in how to deploy the team's technical toolkit to solve operational challenges
  • Implement and lead important process improvements that markedly move us towards operational excellence and develop solutions that radically improve the efficacy and efficiency of existing operational processes or unlock new capabilities through technology and automated solutions
  • Introduce tools, best practices and systems to support more efficient technical program management and execution
  • Lead a team to ensure successful execution and supporting their professional and personal success through development.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of technical project management/process-oriented operations work experience (lean operations, project management)
  • 3+ years of experience using using coding languages such as SQL to analyze project performance and risks and develop reports for management and partners
  • Experience managing a technical or system implementation
  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years commensurate experience

Bonus points:

  • PMP/Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Healthcare experience
  • Metrics-driven project management approach, constantly guiding business partners towards 'zero defects'
