Acorns is seeking a licensed Series 24 Securities Principal to join the Investment Operations team in order to build and maintain customers’ trust in Acorns as a revolutionary investing service. Our Investments Operations team reviews and executes the full life cycle of every investment transaction and manages all investment advisor related customer inquiries. Through deep operational insight and big picture thinking, you’ll improve our customer’s experience through timely resolutions, surfacing issues as they arise, and improving processes.

Within 1 month, you will:

• Introduce yourself and become integrated with the Invest Operations team
• Develop relationships with the Compliance, Invest Products Engineering and FINOP teams
• Have recurring 1 on 1’s with management and meet regularly with the Invest Operations team to provide onboarding questions/feedback and understand team priorities, responsibilities and goals

Within 3 months, you will:

• Execute trades for our self directed and advisory portfolios
• Review all trade activity details to verify clearing firm activity matches Acorns Backend
• Execute and review trade allocations across omnibus accounts
• Daily chargeback stock position reconciliation
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to plan for upcoming corporate action events
• Monitor money movement exception reports to ensure all investments are completing the full life cycle
• Communicate trading and money movement issues promptly with your manager
• Review accounts with suspicious activity including large deposits and withdrawal requests
• Recognize, prevent and communicate fraud issues effectively
• Collaborate with the Risk and Checking operations team to stay on top of fraud trends and help develop new procedures to mitigate losses
• Identity customer needs and communicate through email while maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times
• Final reviewer on customer wires and check processing
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries
• Participate in weekly team meetings to gain insight on department updates and provide feedback on ways to improve

Within 6 months, you will:

• Effectively manage money movement and trading incidents with cross functional teams
• Act as subject matter expert on all of Invest Operations, including providing training and guidance to the Customer Support, FINOP, Compliance, Engineering, and Product teams for existing and new products as needed
• Assist in the development and operational readiness of new investment products
• Update and create standard operating procedures as new products are introduced and policies and procedures change
• Collaborate with the team to solve for trade errors, trade failures, and partial trade fills
• Have a deep understanding of the investment money movement life cycle
• Create and modify money movement exceptions reports

What you will bring to Acorns:

• BA/BS degree required
• FINRA SIE license required
• FINRA Series 7, 66, 24 license required
• 3 years of investment or financial operations experience
• SQL proficiency is preferred
• A passion for Acorns to look after the financial best interest of the up-and-coming
• Ability to consistently execute on assigned tasks effectively with a high degree of excellence
• Masterful problem-solving skills identifying issues and customer needs while providing thoughtful solutions
• Exceptional awareness with the ability to communicate and escalate issues
• High degree of professionalism and poise
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
