Cvent is a leading meetings, events and hospitality technology provider with more than 4,300 employees and nearly 21,000 customers worldwide. Founded in 1999, the company delivers a comprehensive event marketing and management platform for event professionals and offers software solutions to hotels, special event venues and destinations to help them grow their group/MICE and corporate travel business.

Cvent’s Integrations 360 team provides the expertise our customers look to when implementing and integrating Cvent into their tech stacks.

Our Technical Consultants are experts in the field of APIs and integrations. Our ideal candidate has a technical background, strong project management skills, a strong business sense, and the ability to clearly communicate and present to customers.

As a Technical Consultant, you will gather business and technical requirements, design integration architectures, and work directly with our clients IT teams to implement them.

You don’t necessarily need to know APIs, but you must have an appetite to learn and stay current on the Cvent platform and many related technologies as they evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate directly with customers and internal stakeholders via email, instant messaging and online meetings – you should be quite comfortable speaking to groups.
  • Conduct detailed customer requirement gathering, discovery, and analysis.
  • Develop technical documentation outlining how various systems connect.
  • Communicate frequently with customer stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, in a highly customer-centric manner, and guide them through the stages of project.
  • Provide input to our Product Management teams on emerging customer needs.
  • Maintain broad knowledge of industry trends and how Cvent products add value.
  • Set and manage expectations with senior stakeholders and team members.
  • Perform a wide variety of other tasks as needed.

This position requires occasional weekend support for important tier-1 customer events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably technical) with strong academic credentials
  • 2-4 years of professional services, sales engineering or other customer-centric experience in a high-tech B2B environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, the ability to present to a variety of external audiences, and to adapt and respond quickly in live customer discussions.
  • Strong technical and analytical, and project management skills.
  • Able to draw out high-level requirements from clients and gradually dive deeper into the technical details.
  • Exceptional written communication. This role requires an ability to understand and articulate the technical capabilities of Cvent products and solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership for decisions on major technical issues.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and execute in a methodical and disciplined manner.
  • Ability to maintain a zealous attention to detail across multiple projects

Nice to haves

  • Understanding of SOAP and REST API principals and API development tools (e.g. Postman, SOAPUI, curl)
  • Basic understanding of relational databases, data structures, SQL, and the software development life cycle
