The Regional Operations Training & Development Specialist is part of our Global Training team. In this role, you will learn the structure and training disciplines for developing Customs Entry personnel. You'll work closely with our Customs Compliance team to ensure our continuing education reflects the most updated Customs requirements, as well as working with existing and new employees in Customs operational roles to help them understand the operating systems and compliance requirements. This position can be located anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Regional Manager Operations Training and Support and Global Training Team to design and deploy training solutions to support the delivery of a world class Global Operations Training Program
  • Develop operations employees utilizing uniform standard processes, efficient practices and compliant industry standards
  • Adhere to a consistent training strategy across the region
  • Interface with operations staff, Compliance, Product Teams, IT and other GF Corporate teams as needed
  • Coach and train desk level staff and modal leaders as needed
  • Identify and analyze the training opportunities from desk level staff, modal leaders, and GF Corporate teams
  • Work with the Business Process Optimization Team, Compliance Team, and IT Team to support technology and operations process changes
    • May be involved in designing process and technology solutions
    • Will be expected to follow testing requirements related to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and identify need to revise or add additional testing scenarios as needed
    • Contribute to the design and execution of the training and communication strategy related to change initiatives
  • Be an active member of the Regional Training Team
    • Attend regular web meetings with Regional Training Manager
    • Provide input on solutions for training initiatives
    • Contribute to team project assignments as identified
  • Design and deliver Global Forwarding related web-based learning, instructor led courses, workshops, and other various Global Forwarding trainings utilizing our organization’s LMS
  • Provide re-training to branch modal teams and modal leadership as identified by Business Process Optimization Team and/or Compliance Team audit findings
  • Create, maintain and publish quality accessible operations resource documentation, e.g. Job Aids, Responsibility Guides, Users Guides, and SOPs
    • Collaborate with Regional Training Manager to provide input on content, ensuring global uniformity in resource material
    • Train regional operations staff to the content published in these global/regional resources
    • Identify and address instances where regional specific resource material is needed and publish and maintain operational content to support this
    • Utilize agreed upon Global Forwarding training templates and adhere to Global Forwarding operations knowledge site publication standards
  • Promote availability to accessible quality opportunities related to freight forwarding and industry professional development. This may include:
    • Participation in trials to review third party training solutions and learning platforms
    • Designing effective trial feedback material to aid in review third party training solutions
    • Contribution to building content in house
  • Manage internal MyQ training and support queue, responsible for answering ad hoc operations questions from operations staff
    • Ensure issues are addressed within established Service Level Agreement (SLA), responses are accurate, and if needed issues are escalated to other corporate teams
  • Utilize knowledge of Navisphere technologies and Global Forwarding processes, industry regulations, financial processes and various Global Forwarding analytical tools to train operations staff and modal leaders
  • Assist with the development of other training team members
  • Contribute to design and review of knowledge documentation
  • Design and deploy training surveys as needed
    • Compile results to share with leadership
  • Ability to be a key project participant or owner
  • Assume LMS Administration rights as needed. Adhere to all enterprise guidelines and policies associated to those rights
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum 4 years of Global Forwarding Operations experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
  • Strong multi-modal product knowledge
  • Ability to travel up to 10% travel (domestically and internationally)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed Customs Broker
  • Associate's or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
  • Ability to collaborate and align across functional and geographical boundaries to achieve results by applying expanded conceptual knowledge in own job discipline
  • Can understand and simplify moderately complex processes to train and document accordingly
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), facilitation, presentation, coaching, and training skills
  • Able to actively listen to and consider others views by asking questions and check for understanding
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized and productive
  • Able to multi-task and keep stakeholders informed

Compensation Range

The compensation range for this position is based on experience and location. We support you as your grow your career. Our career paths offer the potential for internal promotion - both horizontally and vertically.

Annual Salary: $48500 - $97100
