Job Description

The Executive Director, Global Online Marketing & Production will be responsible for leading the brand’s efforts to define, build, rollout and monetize our online properties.

This role will lead global online marketing and go to market strategy as well as technology innovation, strategy, and implementation to create best in class online experiences that drive conversion and support the brand’s mission of delivering high touch service. Critical to the success will be the ability to partner with cross functional teams including ELC Online Production, DTIG, Global Consumer Marketing, regional Online leads and vendor partners. This person will oversee multiple projects simultaneously, identify the right solution to deliver projects based on business needs, manage prioritization and solve for potential risks and conflicts as they arise.

This position reports to the Vice President, Global eCommerce and has three direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

Online Marketing

  • Oversee the online Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy for new launches, hero products, and equity moments to achieve online objectives and drive engagement and sales
  • Lead the development of the online strategy for launch books, 360 briefs, and asset grids
  • Identify and brainstorm new activation ideas and act as online lead in 360 marketing meetings
  • Develop global online marketing calendar and partner with online regionals to ensure the calendar supports local needs
  • Lead online merchandising strategy including overseeing best practices for merchandising MPPs, SPPs, site experiences, and other site elements
  • Responsible for online launch performance and overseeing measurement to ensure programs deliver against KPIs
  • Oversee the strategy for new site experiences supporting launches, hero products, and equity moments
    Digital Production & Innovation
  • Lead online production for the Estee Lauder brand and own the vision for the site experience and innovation to drive online conversion and high touch service
  • Create and maintain Estee Lauder’s Online digital roadmap of new site features, define strategic initiatives, and prioritization
  • Oversee global production budget and negotiate and manage vendor contracts
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the multiple internal stakeholders and vendors involved in new feature/technology launches and bring together the relevant parties to ensure alignment and timely rollout
  • Lead multiple simultaneous projects, agency resources, project status, troubleshoot obstacles, and provide outstanding communication to all stakeholders
  • Oversee the development of new features from start to finish including UX/UI, creative development, technical requirements and build, and scale new features globally
  • Identify new technology opportunities that support brand initiatives including personalization & high touch service and that drive business results
  • Lead strategy, implementation, and rollout for Virtual Try On and other high touch technologies. Partner with Global Retail Experience team to ensure an omni-consumer journey
    Consumer Experience and User Testing
  • Partner with Digital Experience team to define user testing approach and strategy to enhance the online experience
  • Leverage data driven insights to develop and maintain a global consumer journey that is up to date with the current marketplace and consumer expectations
  • Work with Brand Experience and Creative teams to develop the strategy to optimize site UX with a focus on mobile, product discovery, product detail pages, and checkout to drive conversion.
  • Drive brainstorming around approaches to create sophisticated and engaging user experiences
  • Stay abreast of consumer & trends, emerging technology, competitors’ innovation, industry news and audience research to ensure the brand's strategy remains ahead

Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of eCommerce best practices
  • 10+ years of experience and expertise in online marketing, digital production, project management, etc.
  • Proven experience managing teams in mid-to-large scale, complicated projects.
  • Ability to compile and evaluate research needs, analyze results and translate into action
  • Strong team collaboration and facilitation skills.
  • Proven track record of managing cross platform website projects (desktop, tablet, mobile, apps) with large groups of distributed stakeholders and project team members.
  • Well-honed verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and/or observing user research and usability testing and in translating results into design decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of all phases of web development from concept to information architecture to design, development, and QA
  • An ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and influence across groups
  • Pro-active problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
