The Senior Pricing Manager will play an impactful role on Petco's mission to improve the lives of pets, pet parents and our own Petco partners. The Senior Pricing Manager will lead a team of advanced data scientists and economists to develop the pricing & promotions algorithms that fuel the next stages of our omni-channel strategy, drive results and win customer trust. In this role, you will:
- Leverage data analytics to develop insights to drive our pricing strategy and algorithms and evaluate their impact on the performance of the retail business
- Identify business opportunities and mobilize eCommerce and Store merchant organizations and senior management to implement new strategies.
- Work closely with our Product and Data Science teams to ideate, scope out, and bring to market new algorithms and features.
- Continuously evaluate the performance of our pricing strategy by designing, building and maintaining scalable solutions for monitoring, reporting, and optimizing prices both online and in-store.
- Write & productionize efficient code, consistently identify opportunities for optimization, detect patterns and outliers, analyze key performance metrics, design and drive experiments via A/B testing and other methods.
- Lead a team of data scientists & economists to develop new algorithms, tools, and production code. You will prioritize sprints and execute a multiyear pricing roadmap.
Education/Experience
- 5+ years of experience in a highly analytical business role, including (but not limited to) consulting, finance, technology, retail or e-commerce; including at least 2 years in a people manager role.
- Expert knowledge of SQL, Python, R or other relational database query languages
- Demonstrated experience operationalizing data science models into production systems
- Bachelor's degree from a rigorous undergraduate program with demonstrated high academic achievement Economics, Statistics, Computer Science preferred; MBA a plus but not required
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple, time-sensitive deliverables and competing priorities Strong communication skills and highly effective in cross-functional environments
