Data Analyst

We are looking for a data analyst who is both passionate about data, as well as telling the stories behind it. You are a professional in insights storytelling, communication and visualization and know how to turn metrics into action. You love seeing data transform into information, enabling automation and creating convincing visualizations (such as dashboards and presentations) and stories.

You are able to spot opportunities in data and know how to enable others to use it effectively. Next to being a data evangelist, you love building self-serve dashboards for people to use, whether our merchants directly, or any internal stakeholders. You don’t like doing the same thing twice: you have an automation mindset so your work is never repetitive. You know how to design (and maybe even create) highly optimized datasets that can be used to answer numerous questions.

What You’ll Do

We are currently hiring for many different streams, this stream is called Recurring & Tokenization.

The Recurring and Tokenization stream builds and maintains value-add products for merchants with recurring payment business models, for example, subscriptions. Identifying data insights that help ensure recurring payments don't fail is a key component to improving the value proposition and driving product adoption. Ensuring data integrity, managing ETLs, performing deep analytics into performance, managing our stakeholders and automating the delivery of insights through the creation of dashboards and reports are some of the core responsibilities our analysts perform. No two days are the same and we wouldn't have it any other way!

Who you are

• Demonstrable past experience in a similar role at a previous company. Experience in the payments industry is a plus.
• You are (almost) as passionate about people as you are about data. You get excited about what data can do for others and want to contribute to a data-driven organization. You are a great communicator and feel comfortable talking to stakeholders. You don't blindly follow up requests, but make sure you get the question behind the query. You love articulating data-stories to your stakeholders. These can include merchants on our platform.
• Technical and have a good understanding of all components of an analytical data pipeline. You are comfortable writing (complex) SQL queries and have (at least) some level of coding skills (R or Python).
• It’s a plus if you have experience with tools like JupyterHub and Looker and Big Data technology such as Spark, Hadoop and Airflow. At Adyen we use Git for version control, so some level of experience here is a plus.
