The Developer will be responsible for working with the business on their requests and building BI solutions using a mix of Microsoft stack (SSIS, SSRS) and Power BI and Tableau. They will join the BI and Reporting team while migrating a core application to expand the current capabilities and keep consistency for customers. The Migration creates a new source of record and the BI developer will support both the internal data integrations as well as the datamart supporting client facing reports in that transition. This role will be 50% troubleshooting and digging into existing processes and tools for data discrepancies and 50% development which involves taking business requirements and extracting data to improve the processes.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

• Perform code development by following deployment life cycle in agile fashion delivering iteratively.
• Perform ETL development with MySQL, SSMS and SSIS to maintain and expand datamarts and perform integrations.
• Performs data analysis and report development activities, such as writing/troubleshooting complex SQL queries/stored procedures for bug fixes and extract data for reports.
• Analyzes source system data to understand the data structure, definitions, and anomalies.
• Documents report designs and processes in a clear and concise manner.
• Assists in the training, support, maintenance, best practices, code reviews and ongoing administration of reporting system
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
• 8 + years experience in MySQL, MS SQL, SSIS
• Excellent data modelling skills
• Financial or payment system reporting experience is an asset.
• Must have good interpersonal and communications skills including well developed verbal and written English
• Good analytical skills for complex problem solving
• Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Experience with data visualization software (Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik), Hadoop will be added.
• Detail oriented with good organizational skills
• Can communicate in both technical and business terms
