This job contributes to REI’s success by supporting and developing solutions for technical applications at REI Experiences involving the booking and customer management system. This position is the liaison between product management, program management, web services, IT, and the users of the Salesforce database application. This job troubleshoots and works with end-users, including staff and customers, to ensure the application meets their needs and keeps pace with changes in office operations, Salesforce enhancements, policies and/or office procedures. This position also supports the functionality of the SharePoint team site and other technical applications used by REI Experiences.

Your Planning & Navigating Requirements (the plans the job is responsible for creating and executing, and how the job ensures they are implemented)

Salesforce Administration:

· Daily management and support of the proprietary Salesforce database including but not limited to:

  • Manage user setup, profiles and roles
  • System configuring to customize objects, fields, record types, page layouts and validations
  • Use in-depth business knowledge to collaborate with internal and external management, strategic planning & analysis staff and end-users to create and manage complex workflow rules, data validation, and solve business gaps.
  • Develop and create customized reports and dashboards as needed.
  • Create and document application functional requirements by working together with department management.
  • Assist in solution testing, including the development of test plans, test cases, system validation, etc.
  • Stay informed of new Salesforce system features and functionality and providing recommendations for continual improvement.
  • Train new and existing users on Salesforce reservation system functions, including system enhancements.
  • Support application users with instruction and troubleshoot problems as needed.
  • Track and log system problems. Investigate and resolve issues, collaborating with IT and/or Salesforce account managers as required.
  • Create and maintain documentation of processes, policies, application configuration and help-related materials for users as new enhancements are developed.

· Assists in Enterprise Content Management and Business Intelligence efforts.

  • Assist with emergency after hours Salesforce issues.

Other Business Systems:

· Build and support department SharePoint site including content types & policies, lists, libraries, workflows, security groups, permissions.

· Quickly and reliably debug and solve SharePoint issues.


Bring your passion and expertise

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in related field or commensurate work experience required.
  • Current Salesforce Administrator certification
  • 2-3 years’ experience with Salesforce
  • Understanding of relational databases and data integration tools
  • Experience with programming languages such as SQL, JavaScript, HTML
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Close attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Actively participates and collaborates with others on one's own team and across REI for the achievement of business goals.
  • Flexible in one's viewpoints and positions in order to support the direction taken by others at REI.
  • Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities.
