Guild is hiring a Senior Director of IT Operations to join the IT organization. This role will assist the VP of IT in establishing common practices across IT for managing risk, predictable, visible delivery, and operational efficiency. You will be directly responsible for a team of IT managers and lead the company’s infrastructure, operations, and support, as well as the SaaS stack and IT compliance. You’ll work cross-functionally with other business units and teams to build and support scalable technology solutions and processes that empower Guild to unlock opportunity for America’s workforce.

As Senior Director of IT Operations you will:

  • Provide transparent delivery utilizing Agile sprints and scrum delivery methodology, project reporting & observability, and resource allocation & prioritization
  • Lead all aspects of IT Operations to include managers and individual contributors on the following teams: IT Ops Engineering, Help Desk, ITAM, Enterprise Applications, and IT Audit & Compliance
  • Manage the IT Ops roadmap to deliver a long term strategic plan for IT. This includes setting OKRs for IT teams and leaders and defining goals and expectations for the department to ensure IT meets its mission
  • Ensure operational excellence in key processes such as incident response, change management, and problem management. Drive automation initiatives. Define and report on metrics driven towards measuring operational improvements
  • Collaborate with other business units to design and implement a digital workplace strategic plan
  • Optimize and manage the overall software and hardware spend
  • Ensure IT policies and controls are well defined, documented, & communicated and compliance requirements are met
  • Provide support for overall growth and maturity of the company across multiple offices by partnering with Workplace Operations to optimize a future hybrid remote/in-office work environment
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external IT vendors, VARs, and service providers

We would love to see a background in:

  • Previous experience running large IT teams with multiple functions
  • Demonstrated capabilities managing sophisticated projects and initiatives across an organization
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high growth environment and have shown your ability to grow IT as a scalable, performant business partner
  • Passion for crafting an IT strategic vision and plan that supports company strategy and growth
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of IT controls, compliance, and onboarding/offboarding procedures
  • Tracked operational metrics and measured success against those metrics
  • A knack for identifying gaps and a highly developed ability to define future direction
  • Have a strong desire to innovate and automate processes and technology
  • Previous experience as a systems administrator, network engineer, or solutions architect
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ITIL framework and applicable experience using it to enhance IT service management

Preferred Proficiencies

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Experience running hybrid work environments across multiple offices and facilities
  • Budget management and optimizing IT spend
  • Ability to adjust your approach to best support the business. Each team and each request will be unique
  • Experience with IT audit and compliance (SOC 1 & 2, SOX, and PCI)
  • Scrum Master certification
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or Security+ certification
  • ITIL Foundation & ITIL Practitioner Certifications
  • CISM or CISSP
  • Ten years experience working in IT operations as both a technician and a leader

We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $170,000-$215,000 , as well as company stock options.
