The Supply Chain Systems Technology Analyst position contributes to REI’s success by supporting our Distribution Centers to fulfill customer orders. This position is accountable for managing all Distribution Center technical equipment and infrastructure, ensuring stability and functionality. This Technology Analyst creates/manages a comprehensive and proactive plan for offline systems maintenance plus performs software updates / functionality testing, reducing systems vulnerabilities. This position is critical in troubleshooting and preventing excess operational downtime and customer delays caused by system technical equipment failures. This position makes recommendations on maintaining redundant equipment and parts bank to ensure the Distribution Center downtime is minimized. This role
  • Develops preventative maintenance program and schedule for DC technical infrastructure.
  • Creates and communicates weekly reporting, reporting incidents and identifying trends.
  • Manages external vendor performance and ensures vendor accountability to contractual support agreement terms.
  • Collaborates with Operations team to schedule downtime to perform maintenance and updates.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repair of DC equipment including but not limited to: Servers, PC’s, RF devices, modems, radios, scales, PTL System, printers, MHE Workstations, Pocket Sortation Systems, OSR Systems, Security cameras and Cubiscan Devices.
  • Learns & Monitors internal systems & programs required to maintain connectivity & systems communication.
  • Ensures needed supplies and inventory are on hand prior to high volume periods and to satisfy back-up needs • Serves as primary systems & infrastructure Subject Matter Expert and Support for the Distribution Center team.
  • Assists Facilities Coordinator with conveyor testing support.
  • Maintains Server Room / Communications Room. Ensures all associated, support equipment, and storage is proactively maintained to optimize performance of the Distribution Centers by collaborating closely with the IT Infrastructure and Network teams.
  • Builds relationship with Vendors, IT Infrastructure, Network and Supply Chain Services teams to maintain the best level of preventive maintenance and problem resolution within the DC.
  • Coordinates implementation windows with operations teams for new services, updates/patches, systems maintenance and testing ensuring company needs and expectations are met internally or externally.
  • Acts as Project Manager for small scope system related projects, coordinating with DC user base and communicating requirements.
  • Assists SCTS Analyst team with systems testing as requested.

Bring your passion and expertise

  • Understanding of Client Hardware and Software, Wireless Technology and mobile devices, Network and Server troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Actively participates and collaborates with others on one's own team and across REI’s Enterprise Support Team for the achievement of business goals.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Logistics, Distribution, Material Management, and/or Supply Chain from an accredited institution
  • 2-3 years’ experience in two or more of the following areas of discipline:
    • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) (Manhattan iSeries preferred)
    • Supply Chain Operations
    • Distribution / Material Handling
    • Retail Store Product Logistics
  • Certification in LEAN, Six Sigma, Agile or APICS.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft (MS) Excel Intermediate skills and experience with at least two areas: Visual Basic Script, SQL, SAP, Tableau, JIRA, Labor Management Systems, Warehouse Slotting Systems, Storage Utilization/Planning.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight as well as & collaborative with peers, internal Customers and across REI Headquarters for the support & achievement of business goals.
  • Flexible in one's viewpoints and positions to support the direction taken by others at REI.
  • Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business solutions.
  • Consolidates & collaborates information from various sources including feedback from others to reach sound decisions.
  • Considers the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customers.
  • Works smart by setting effective work goals, establishing and shifting priorities, and managing time effectively in order to produce quality work.
