Job Description

Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our team. This position is based at our Burlington, ON office. No relocation is being offered for this position.

Position Overview:

The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for designing and executing Eaton Canada’s data analytics roadmap to support our strategic initiatives. This role will provide actionable business insights using various sources of data, visual, and statistical techniques. This includes partnering with the stakeholders to uncover their critical questions and analytic needs and designing a data dashboard to provide the additional business insights. This role will also support the entire Profit Planning cycle from creating the Excel model to working with the product managers throughout the process and supporting the sales district operating plans. The Senior Business Analyst will be located out of Burlington, Ontario, Canada.

In this function you will:

  • Work across functions with IT, Finance, Marketing and Channel teams to ensure accurate reporting and maintain data governance framework
  • Support and execute the multi-year analytics maturity roadmap for Eaton Canada that supports the overall Canada Strategy
  • Manage analytics dashboards, design a roadmap for each, and continuously gathers Voice of the Customer (VOC) feedback to ensure actionable insights to its users
  • Become the analytics resident expert by partnering with the business stakeholders to understand what matters to them and use advanced analytics and data to provide additional insights and actionable recommendations
  • Facilitate better decision making by optimizing the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and “what if scenarios”, automating the process (speed and efficiency), and taking the process through cycle of improvement
  • Identify patterns and insights from structured and unstructured data sets utilizing graphs, trees and/or other data representation techniques
  • Document and critically assess the business and analysis questions, then create metric and dashboard to provide the insights
  • Define and design a comprehensive product manager dashboard that provides a complete pulse of a product line including: sales, bookings, market share, backlog, price performance, opportunity pipeline, campaign performance, and new product sales
  • Design the market share data dashboard by building an insightful dashboard on Power BI for the product managers and business stakeholders. Ability to separate signal from noisy data
  • Own and advance the existing data dashboard to ensure they continue to support a data driven decision making for the users of the dashboards
  • Perform ad-hoc strategic analysis of structured and unstructured data and reporting across multiple data sources
  • Upgrade the understanding of the organization by conducting seminars and presentations on data analytics and the value of data driven decision making
  • Advance and support the profit planning Excel model for the product managers and the stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma in finance, economics, math, or engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a data analytics, financial analyst, or operational analyst role
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with statistical and numerical methods to model complex dynamics and build a prediction model
  • Experience in data analytic tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Python, R, SAS, SQL
  • Demonstrated experience using internal/external data sources to create dashboards using data analytic tools using Power BI, OBIE, and/or Qlik to forecast and uncover business insights
  • Experience in statistical and numerical methods to model complex dynamics and build a prediction model
  • Demonstrated prowess for data visualization and executive level reporting

  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office skills; PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
