Job Description

Description:Opto-Mechanical Intern will work with Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineers on the design of optical mounts, fiber routers, fiber laser modules, thermal management systems, spectral beam combiners, and structures. They will be potentially be assisting on lasers for infrared counter measures, LIDAR, and directed energy weapons. Interns will potentially assist with procurement, drawing creation, GD&T, analysis, FEA, tooling design, and integration & testing of the systems.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidates shall have completed course work and be in the process of obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Physics, or similar engineering discipline.
Desired Skills:
- 3D Modeling (CREO preferred or Solidworks)
- Knowledge of Technical Drawings & GD&T
- Basic understanding of FEA
- Prior Laser system experience a plus
- Prior Cooling system experience a plus
