Overview

We're a team of technologists who love to inspire, and we're looking for a JavaScript developer advocate to help us research the latest technologies, provide guidance to internal teams, and support the Acquia developer community.

As a JS developer advocate, you will create example projects, learn and teach modern web technologies while inspiring, empowering, and connecting with developers around the world. You are passionate about technology and can't get enough of trying new things and sharing them with others. As an expert in modern web development, you know how to evaluate and share different approaches to solve common problems, and how to select the right options for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Create content on technical concepts for various channels to equip developers with knowledge of tools and techniques to improve their craft.
• Own the primary messaging for JS developers around Acquia’s headless and decoupled products.
• Teach developers about best practices and new technologies, whether in-person, by writing tutorials or by recording a video (with creative team support).
• Guiding internal engineering efforts to align product work with industry best practices and next-generation JS architectures.
• Creating sample projects, starter kits, libraries, and reference solutions to make it easier for developers to build ambitious experiences.
• Provide product feedback and ideas on how to improve our tools and solutions for JS development.
• Advocate for developers internally and influence Acquia product strategy by working with cross-functional teams
• Build and drive community-related content such as workshops, webinars, hackathons and demonstrations.
• Understand the communities where developers congregate and come up with creative strategies to align Acquia tools and products to their needs.

Requirements

• Experience presenting to technical audiences within an organization, at meetups, or at events.
• Established background in developing and contributing to the developer community
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and experience with writing technical documentation or tutorials for a developer audience.
• 4+ years of professional web development experience with a focus on JavaScript and front-end technologies such as React/Vue, GraphQL, WebAssembly, and whatever comes next.
• Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and capable of strategically prioritizing multiple tasks in a proactive manner
• Background in building and shipping enterprise applications
• Experience working with and supporting open source technologies
• Experience with headless CMS integrations.
• BS in Computer Science or related field or related experience
