We have an exciting opening for a high-performing marketing professional who can deliver our Lifecycle Engagement and Retention marketing activities for our small business portfolio. The role will be reporting into the International Lifecycle Merchant Marketing team, who are responsible for managing end-to-end marketing across the funnel, to help drive demand and habituation for our merchant products across the portfolio of PayPal’s fastest growing 150+ international markets.
The Lifecycle Marketer will be responsible for the development and execution of SMB engagement, retention and churn related marketing initiatives. The role will be focus on delivering best-in-class campaigns, from identifying valuable user-retention opportunities to delivering and scaling them effectively into market. Success will be defined by increased product penetration, customer value, retention and business impact. The key candidate needs to have an excellent understanding of SMB and their needs, as well as a deep understanding of different channels available to reach them. The candidate must be highly ambitious, willing to adapt and be a strong partner to our commercial and global marketing teams.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute engagement and retention campaigns in the international markets and deliver effective lifecycle programs across 150+ markets.
- Implement and optimise multi-channel programs that positively impact the customer experience and contributes to driving financial growth.
- Partner with the global sales, product & commercial teams to ensure all marketing is grounded in customer (and competitor) insight, and business case the top marketing opportunities.
- Lead and track the delivery of retention program performance with the support of analytics, dashboards and analyse the findings to inform the development of future activity based on results.
- Ensure all activities are compliant with legal, local teams, risk & data protection requirements
- Liaise with creative agencies, localisation teams and internal Content & Brand teams to ensure all messaging meets objectives and deliver a delightful locally relevant experience.
- Partner with media agencies to launch paid media campaigns, optimise campaign effectiveness and enable efficient spending to deliver ROI.
- Influence and liaise effectively with key stakeholders including local marketing teams, marketing operations, agencies, contractors and support teams to work towards the same goal and deliver best-in-class marketing campaigns across the funnel.
- Represent International Merchant Lifecycle Marketing in cross-functional / global forums and share best practices with other regions.
Experience and Skills (the what)
- Strong marketing background, +5 years’ experience.
- Experience in B2B management at scale, mainly focus on customer engagement and retention.
- Highly ambitious marketer, who loves a challenge and is agile to changing environments.
- Hands on strong executor who’s comfortable playing an individual role
- Strong collaborator and one team player who can balance and prioritise multiple workstreams.
- Deliver on time and in line with budget allocated
- Knowledge of digital marketing techniques and best practice. Demonstrated excellence in delivering full funnel integrated marketing campaigns.
- Experience working on multiple markets and languages.
- Business Degree, MBA or equivalent preferred.
Qualities and Behaviours (the how)
- Passion and deep understanding of customer behaviour (ideally merchant) and the importance of timely, relevant & creative marketing
- Strategy development experience and experience in GTM planning / product launches
- Strong project management skills and the passion for both strategic as well as hands on operational work
- Comfortable with ambiguity - able to manage multiple competing priorities with strong attention to detail. Suited to fast, paced dynamic work environment.
- Strong track record of delivering impactful marketing programs and experience in managing large cross functional program.
- Content master, able to create compelling stories that engage customers and prospects
- Strong understanding of modern marketing automation technologies and related systems and capabilities. Knowledge on Sales Force Marketing Cloud and Pardot is an advantage.
- Perfect fluency in quantitative methods and high-level analytics is a must.
- Outstanding collaboration, project & stakeholder management skills in complex matrix organizations. Can deal with high degree of ambiguity.
- Composed, professional & articulate – at ease managing discussions and goals with clients
- A self-starter with a nimble, adaptable work-style – able to get results in a fast-moving environment. Hungry to learn and adapt to new ways of working.

- Highly numerate and has strong written and presentation skills .
- Fluent in English . Fluency in other APAC languages is an advantage.
