Our Team & Opportunity

The past two years has seen significant transformation for Vanguard Australia in business strategy and in the discipline of Marketing. A strategy of growth will see Vanguard Australia expand its offer across both the Intermediary (B2B) and the Direct to Investor (B2C) strategies. We appointed our first Global Chief Marketing Officer, and in Australia, our Marketing department is now a standalone function with a growth agenda to serve both our intermediary clients as well as directly to our investors and future Super members. As part of this transformation, we are looking for a Marketing Manager to focus and lead across Growth and Retention

What you will do

  • Developing and leading the onboarding program to ensure our clients have an excellent experience from the moment they join Vanguard
  • Developing growth campaigns to drive engagement and connection with our existing clients
  • Working independently, initiates and / or leads client marketing programs, initiatives, promotions, or research projects on consumer insights and client segments.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors client marketing plans. Contributes expertise to major marketing deliverables, milestones, and required tasks. Identifies marketing opportunities based on segmentation analysis and client insights to drive client engagement, retention, and new business opportunities.
  • Ensures client marketing plans are aligned with the overall department strategy. Assists with defining the appropriate success and effectiveness of marketing initiatives and drafts in-depth reviews of marketing effectiveness. Maintains a strong knowledge of Vanguard's business, clients, and competitors to enhance marketing effectiveness.
  • Proactively communicates status and issues of client marketing activity regularly to stakeholders, including sales professionals, business leaders, team members, and senior managers.
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with various parties including sales professionals, business leads, and key decision makers. Proactively fosters communication between stakeholders.
  • Proactively identifies, manages, and mitigates risks on client marketing activities.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What are we looking for

  • Strong digital consumer marketer
  • Experienced in working at a client journey level (Awareness – Join – Grow – Retain) in cross function teams
  • Financial services experience is preferred
  • Solid experience in a similar role and willingness to take accountability
  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing or equivalent experience required.

Future of Work

During the pandemic, we transitioned to a work from home model for the majority of our crew and we continue to interview, hire, and on-board future crew remotely.

As we have developed the path forward, we have taken a thoughtful approach that both maximizes the advantages of working remotely and the many benefits of coming together and collaborating in a shared workspace. We believe that in-person interactions among our crew are important for preserving our unique culture and advantageous for the personal development of our crew.

When our Crew return to the office, many will work in our hybrid model. A smaller proportion of our crew will operate in the Work from Home work model (for example, field sales crew); or in the Work from Office model (for example, portfolio managers).
