Accounting & Payroll Specialist

Royal Canin Germany is fast growing company with four locations in Germany, belonging to the MARS concern and with strong company purpose of creating the better world for pets through health pet nutrition. The Accounting & Payroll Administrator (m/w/d) ensures through his/her knowledge and his/her understanding of the process flows that the requirements caused by the strong organizational growth are met efficiently and in result-oriented manner. This includes trustful and reliable cooperation with all areas of the company.

We are searching for an associate with strong self-driven personality which can cooperate within matrix organization within our Royal Canin company and MARS as the concern and with external provider of payroll service. We are looking forward for an associate in the team which is reliable and has strong level of personal integrity and gains trust to work with confidential information and ability to secure the payroll for our associates in right quality and time. The Accounting & Payroll Specialist reports to Financial Controller (Accounting Manager for DACH cluster) and belongs to the team of Finance & Accounting DACH. He/she cooperates closely with German team and with People & Organization (P&O) Managers. The main responsibility is sitting in the Payroll area for German unit. Nevertheless, he/she also supports also important Financial Operations in weekly preparing and controlling of vendor invoices paying batch according to the internal process and setting up a bank transaction. He/she supports also relevant Financial projects related to the payment process, e.g. achieving the DPO goals.

What are we looking for?

• Fluency in German language, good English language skills
• Commercial education, Bachelor ́s degree preferred
• experience in accounting, good knowledge of accounting principles
• Understanding of business administration (studies or corresponding further training are an advantage)
• Basic knowledge of (wage) tax, social security, and labor law as advantage
• Confident handling of MS Office programs and ERP systems
• Detail orientation and accuracy
• High degree of independence and personal responsibility
• High level of self-organization and assertiveness

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Works closely with the People & Organization (P&O) Director, Mars P&O, and as a trusted advisor
• Main point of contact for all Payroll related topics for the Germany company
• Close cooperation with the Payroll provider (3rd party provider)
• Managing of fringe benefits of internationally active employees (expats)
• Regular controlling and reporting of salary relevant KPIs internally and externally
• Managing pension plan agenda in cooperation with mother company expert team (MARS) and 3rd party consultants
• Administrating Company Bike benefit for associates
• Administration of the time recording system and transferring relevant reports
• Cooperating on Implementation of new transformation & benefit projects
