As a software development specialist you will work with our Project-, Engineering and Quality Management departments, reviewing active projects on a regular basis to ensure adherence to established quality standards. Through your work, you make a fundamental contribution to achieving our Safety, Security, Open Source compliancy and Quality goals for the various product launches, balancing quality objectives with business objectives.

This position within the Communications Business Unit of Bosch Building Technologies (with an annual revenue of 310 MEURO) shares global responsibility for the software quality of the following business clusters;

• Public Address (Bosch and Dynacord brand)
• Conference and Discussion Systems (Bosch brand)
• Professional Audio (Dynacord and Electro-Voice brand)
• Dispatch systems (Telex brand)
• Intercom systems (RTS brand)

Job Description

Role scope:

• Mix of high, medium and low volume product portfolio
• Safety and security critical system solutions based on complex software architectures from embedded software to cloud solutions.
• Globally distributed software development teams in Eindhoven and Breda (The Netherlands), Straubing (Germany), Burnsville and Lincoln (USA), Bangalore (India) and Ovar (Portugal)
• Ensure compliance with the Bosch Quality Requirements for Development of Software (CDQ0302)

Key Responsibilities:

• Review partner and coach for software developers and architects with focus on software quality.
• Review maturity of software quality at suppliers.
• Definition of preventive quality strategies as part of project quality assurance plan (APQP).
• Provide transparency of software quality to project team and relevant stakeholders.
• Define, analyze and interpret quality metrics and provide feedback to project and quality management.
• Ensure quality gates and processes are executed in accordance with quality standards (e.g. static analysis, code review, test coverage, etc.).
• Guide and consult projects in technical aspects of quality processes.
• Participate in technical reviews (e.g. SW architecture, Safety- and Security reviews, FMEA, etc.)
• Coordinate Problem Solving activities as a basis for continuous improvement in SW development.

Qualifications

Need to have's:

• BSc or MSc in Software Science or Computer Science;
• At least 5 years of experience in software development, working within and leading agile and cross-functional teams, supporting customers, both internal and external.

Nice to have's:

• Familiar with standardized software development frameworks;
• Work experience in project management (project planning and tracking, risk management);
• Demonstrated leadership skills in international corporate environments;
• Strong communication, negotiation and team moderation skills and ability to manage time and workload constraints;
• Experience with quality tools like FMEA, 8D, etcetera.
