About the Position

We are looking for a new Accountant to join our London Accounting team to support both our local and global accounting operations at Jane Street.

You’ll work alongside team members to maintain the company’s internal books and records and help with our month-end close process. This will include the preparation of various reconciliations and financial schedules as we prepare financial statements.

This role will provide a great introduction and exposure to the larger operations of the firm. The right person must be discreet, trustworthy, and comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment.

Getting the details right in accounting is an extremely important part of our business, and we take pride in our ability to stay on schedule without sacrificing accuracy. Each member of our team is highly organised, proactive, and able to prioritise tasks effectively.

The legal and regulatory environment in which we operate is constantly shifting. Your previous industry expertise will be valuable to the team as we collaborate with outside auditors and advisors on accounting policy decisions and relevant GAAP interpretations.

About You

• Qualified Accountant with 0-5 years post-qualification experience
• Strong foundation of financial statements production and legal entity reporting
• In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP and/or IFRS
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to handle competing priorities and to work effectively in a challenging, fast-paced environment
• Supportive and reliable team player with a collaborative mindset
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Motivated to improve processes where possible
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Workday would be a plus
• Background in financial services is desired but not essential
• VBA skills a plus
• Fluency in English required
