The Role

BuzzFeed Studios is looking for a versatile and experienced Project Manager to oversee its slate of premium podcasts across the BuzzFeed Inc. portfolio. You will report to the Head of Studio & Global Content. The Program Manager, Podcasts & Audio will understand podcasts, digital content and social media, across entertainment, pop culture, lifestyle and news. You will oversee the planning and delivery of excellent, original audio content to delight global audiences. Additionally, you will lead high-quality project management of the development, production, publishing and performance of our slate of original podcasts spanning a variety of brands within BuzzFeed Inc., from Tasty, to Quiz content, to HuffPost, to Unsolved, and more.

You Will
  • Develop and produce premium podcasts in partnership with audio producers and talent.
  • Work with our third party production partner and audio producers to coordinate production sessions, protect budgets and book talent.
  • Ensure timelines are built and maintained, and communicated to team members across the company.
  • Partner with research, legal, and marketing teams; help strategize for the publication of shows.
  • Use data from relevant platforms to inform future content ideas, drive results, and develop audiences.
  • Coordinate talent and manage production bookings.
  • Track down materials, soundbites and clips.
  • Work with audio engineer and post-production manager on post production process; advise on edits.
  • Provide post-show feedback and communicate performance data.
  • Be the main internal representative for all things podcast at BuzzFeed Studios.
You Have
  • 3+ years of experience working in podcasts or radio.
  • Experience working with third-party podcast publishers.
  • Project management and producurial skills.
  • Editorial judgment and command of current events, including politics, culture, entertainment, and social media.
  • Experience working creatively in a fast paced environment.
  • A positive, curious disposition with an active interest in figuring out what makes an audience tick.
  • Effective collaboration skills.
