WHAT’S HAPPENING

Universal Music Australia is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our in-house Data & Analytics team, working on high value and challenging projects.

YOUR ROLE

The primary function of this role is utilising prediction, segmentation, machine learning, AdTech and other areas where data and statistical methods can be utilised to provide actionable insights.

This role will work on problems from teams across the business, including frontline labels, domestic A&R, catalogue, commercial, CRM and digital marketing.

Projects & Analysis

Working in partnership with the Data & Analytics Team and stakeholders to develop tailored business solutions:

  • Research and develop data driven solutions to help solve current and future business problems
  • Develop new or refine pre-existing statistical models or processes
  • Advise on commercial opportunities and levers across digital partners and users
  • Developing new ideas including new data features that can become valuable pieces of actionable insights

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Strong experience with R or Python (preferred) and SQL
  • Deep knowledge of statistics & machine learning techniques and algorithms
  • A working understanding of data analytics principles
  • Experience in drawing insights and formulating recommendations from data
  • Passion for music and data that is used within the industry
  • Knowledge or experience of working with Google Platform products like Bigquery, Dataflow...
  • Creative and thinking outside the box when addressing problems and providing solutions
  • Experience with timeseries analysis and forecasting models
  • Knowledgeable about digital business, consumer trends, social media and the music industry
  • Degree in Computer science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar quantitative degree
