Business Unit Overview:

Regulatory Operations is a growing team who design, implement & lead on all aspects of BlackRock’s regulatory processes. We continually monitor, review, and provide assurances that our regulatory obligations are fulfilled.

This is an exciting time within Regulatory Operations with implementation of new regulations and the opportunities to drive our business forward. We are developing systems and reporting capabilities alongside leading risk and working with key partners across the business to drive implementations. The successful candidates will play an important role in that evolution.

Examples of the key regulations owned by Reg Ops include MIFIR, G20 Derivative Reporting, Regulatory Costs Disclosures and Form ADV filings.

Job Purpose/Background:

This role will lead the relationship between the Reg Ops Regulatory Costs Disclosures team and BlackRock’s “Whole Portfolio Solutions” clients, reporting to the head of the Reg Costs team. The overall goal of this role is to act as subject matter expert within Reg Ops for the Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions (MASS) business and their complex and fast growing client and fund base, interacting directly with clients and prospects as required, and designing, the robust, scalable processes required to meet their requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with Client, Portfolio Management, Aladdin and multiple Operations teams to implement those processes, and act as a critical adviser regarding the Whole Portfolio business pipeline and appropriately plan for inclusion in the BAU costs disclosures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for identifying, designing and implementing strategic enhancements to bring MASS / OCIO requirements into the mainstream costs disclosures processes
  • Oversight of those processes and their effectiveness, quality and timeliness
  • Continued partnership with the Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions (MASS) business to support increasing business demands
  • Proactively engage Whole Portfolio Solutions clients and relevant industry forums providing subject matter expertise and thought leadership regarding costs disclosures
  • Organise and run governance committees relating to the above

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Experience of working in the financial services industry across a wide range of products
  • Knowledge of Financial Services Regulations, ideally including fiduciary clients and / or costs disclosure requirements
  • Experience of managing client relationships
  • Experience of committee administration, project and risk management, resource allocation

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong English Language skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven track record of working within complex environments with non-standard processes
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel essential to craft presentation materials and analyses
