Job Description
What are we looking for?
This role manages commercial operational and strategic sourcing activities in the EU / CIS region in order to create end-to-end business solutions for marketing goods and services (specifically: Shopper spend) in the indirect sourcing area for several sites and countries across Mars segments (Mars Wrigley Confectionary, Petcare, Food).
The jobholder works closely with the MGS Commercial team, business stakeholders across functions and suppliers, and is responsible for the efficient and effective execution of sourcing strategy activities. This role is responsible for implementing the Marketing and Sales Shopper plan as well as identifying and delivering additional value chain optimization opportunities. You will act as the first line of escalation on issues between suppliers and the business and implement the supplier relationship management process with preferred suppliers.
This role will be required to be a member of the EU Shopper commercial team across Europe / CIS region, and work together in a hyper collaborative way. This will require the need to travel to meet with key stakeholders as well as suppliers across the segments in Europe.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor / Master degree
- 5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally within a marketing & sales indirects procurement role with experience of supplier relationship management
- Fluent in English
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Manages Marketing & Sales spend (Shopper marketing) in line with commitments to the business and as per the sourcing strategy by applying a wide range of sourcing and project management tools (e.g. negotiation, tenders, strategic collaboration, project management etc.)
- Implements business/ commercial strategies: implements the Shopper implementation plan, negotiating commercial agreements, running tenders and setting up & monitoring new processes in line with the Program strategy.
- Ensures effective risk management of the current supply base through robust contract management and monitoring of financial and other KPIs.
- Implement corrective actions as appropriate & manages all related commercial, financial & ethical aspects of projects
- Establishes & maintains relationships with business stakeholders including across marketing, sales, supply, R&D, S&OP, finance and their teams to ensure understanding of their needs and to drive alignment and deliver the business strategy in partnership Comply with governance policies, systems & controls
- Provide market and financial insights Provide input to and execute Global & Regional strategies & other major workstreams
- Participate in external forums and associations & brings “the outside [and best practice] in”
- Carries out supplier performance reviews on a regular basis and implements the supplier relationship management plan, including the identification and management of supplier collaboration initiatives to deliver value to Mars and the maintenance/ updating of relevant KPIs
