Job Description

KPMG is currently seeking an Associate Director, National Pursuit Resource Center to join our Growth & Strategy organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Impact the firm’s success in meeting revenue and business growth goals, as well as creating a strong marketplace image by offering pursuit influencing services to strategic pursuits in each function
  • Work closely with firm leadership and senior partners on these strategic pursuit opportunities to articulate key differentiators which will lead to a compelling value proposition; develop, edit, write and project-manage proposals from RFP to close and liaise closely with graphics, and other firm services to ensure on-time delivery of all pursuit materials
  • Use sales materials that facilitate proposal creation (e.g., MarketEDGE, BOTS project, Audit Look Book) and identify proposal leading practices and contribute to proposal content team
  • Drive and cascade innovative approaches and ideas within the NPRC team; become the expert in a specified part of the firm to offer your knowledge of their pursuit journey, tools and content needed to service line professionals while you direct, deploy and manage a staff comprising managers and senior associates that is working on firm pursuit opportunities
  • Conceptualize, write, edit and produce highly persuasive communications tailored to large-scale new business opportunities and client retentions; coordinate with offshore and near-shore resources for specific components of the pursuit, e.g., resumes, industry qualifications, overnight edits while you coach pursuit teams on effective oral presentations as part of the proposal process which includes developing key messaging and advising on delivery of persuasive messaging and helping teams emphasize key differentiators that make up KPMG’s value proposition
  • Oversee and augment content creation activities; working with proposal content team and off-shore resources to identify leading practices that may lead to winning new business; participate in and lead training discussions when appropriate and mentor less experienced proposal writers with regular check-ins and strategic advice

Qualifications:

  • Minimum seven years of recent demonstrated project management, account development, business/sales writing or marketing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, marketing/communications, creative writing, project management, from an accredited college/university or related degree with sound business sense and strong editorial skills required; Master’s degree and/or familiarity with accounting/professional services a plus
  • In-depth understanding of the pursuit process and various go-to-market approaches and tools, both within KPMG and externally
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, time-sensitive corporate environment, dealing with executive-level decision makers and critical business issues; break down complicated subject matter and write clearly, concisely, and persuasively, upholding the KPMG tone of voice and brand
  • Work smoothly with all proposal stakeholders, including partners, engagement team members, editorial and graphics professionals and offshore team members think strategically to distinguish KPMG in pursuits; drive projects to successful conclusion with tact and diplomacy while multitasking and the ability to quickly shifting priorities with ease
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
