Our user base has doubled in the last year alone, and we have paid over $2 billion directly to creators on our platform. In order to support this level of growth, Patreon is looking for a Chief of Staff, Legal to build out our Legal Operations team and assist the General Counsel with scaling the Legal, Policy and Compliance functions.

The Patreon Legal team's mission is to build the best legal team anyone has worked with by helping other teams achieve their goals while ensuring Patreon's long-term independence and sustainability. What you will do:

• Build a legal operations team that will manage a legal ticketing system, contract management system and other technology enabled processes.
• Create a culture that constantly looks for ways to improve the team’s ability to scale through processes and technology.
• Manage communications strategy for the General Counsel’s regular updates and meetings with the Board of Directors, Executive Team and other senior leaders.
• Organize and facilitate regular meetings and offsites within the Legal, Policy and Compliance teams.
• Create the process for departmental level planning, and accountability mechanisms for the Legal, Policy and Compliance teams. This includes quarterly planning and deliverables, project management and tracking, and monthly progress reporting for visibility.
• Help build and maintain a unified Legal, Policy and Compliance team culture.

Skills and experience you possess:

• 10+ years of experience in relevant areas such as chief of staff, legal operations, project, program, and portfolio management, or other risk leadership roles.
• Obsessively organized and able to encourage others to adopt your organization systems.
• Experience working with executive teams and boards of directors, with strong written and verbal communication skills that focus on brevity and clarity.
• Strong project management experience on large long-term projects that require extensive cross functional collaboration, rapid prioritization, and escalation of risk and interdependencies .
• Strong work ethic and ability to be productive and successful in a fast-paced work environment.
• Passion for and interest in Patreon and our mission.
