Developer Support Engineer

The Opportunity

Imperva, the leader in Data Security, is looking for a Dev Support Engineer to join the Global Customer and Product Support Team. This is a key role at Imperva and as a Dev Support Engineer, for our diverse and industry leading customers, you will be part of the Global Support Team working alongside our exceptional team of professionals in Product Support, Engineering, QA and Sales Security Engineering (SE). This role requires deep technical and security expertise combined with the ability to fully understand what the user is trying to accomplish. The person in this role will build strong long-term relationships with a customer base consisting of very qualified and intelligent software development engineers and security professionals. In order to earn their respect, this person must not only be equally qualified and intelligent, they must demonstrate a total commitment to their success.

Responsibilities:

● Provide expert guidance and ensure a smooth integration and deployment process.

● Helping the customers by assisting various application teams with their questions and problems planning and deploying RASP; which involves installation / integration of RASP with supported Application Servers, generating and fine tuning of RASP security module configurations and custom policies.

● Troubleshoot complex customer issues.

● Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management on both new features and product design requests

● Working closely with the engineering by providing all the data and information that are required for a quick and pain free resolution for escalations and field bugs

Qualifications:

● Knowledge about APIs
Experience with Application Servers such as: WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, Wildfly/Jboss or IIS

● 5 + years of experience with object-oriented Programming language, such as: Java EE, .NET, .NET Core and Node.js

● Understanding of the runtime environments

● Knowledge of Docker and PCF

● Working knowledge of at least one cloud platform: AWS, GCP, Azure (EKS, GKE, AKS).

● Understanding of SIEM.

● Self-directed with a willingness to learn

● Enthusiastic, positive demeanor and customer first mindset

● Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills

● Inherent and proven problem-solving nature, with an engaged, self-motivated, can-do attitude

Desired Qualifications:

● Knowledge of SDLC, continuous build systems and other software engineering methodologies/systems

● Experience with Splunk or ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)

● Knowledge of Application security and application security vulnerabilities.

● Experience and understanding of Unix-like operating systems

● Experience with Web Application Firewall or network security products

● BSC degree in Computer Science or related field

● Location is flexible; open to remote for right candidate
