Software Developer Back End, Symmetry

Job Description

We are looking for a software developer who is dedicated and passionate about delivering world class products that have a far-reaching impact. This role will work on our Consumer Products team and will be focused on our small business payroll application and other supporting services. This role requires a high level of independence and curiosity and a sense of ownership for the code you write.

Primary Responsibilities & Experience

• Adding code for new features and functions
• Ensuring code quality with extensive unit, integration, and e2e tests
• Practical experience writing reasonably complex software in Java 8+
• Hands on Spring boot microservice experience
• Rest Web Services, Event Driven architecture, reactive programming
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, Maria db, Mongo db
• Experience with version control / source code management systems (Git, Bitbucket, Jira)

Experience & requirements

Prior Experience

• 8+ years designing and building solutions using Java and web technologies
• Experience with event driven architecture a plus
• Exposure to reactive programming also a plus
• Software development exposure/understanding of Spring/Spring Boot
• Exposure to Angular/React a plus
• RxJava and RxJS experience a plus
• Exposure to Agile development, continuous delivery, and interacting with DevOps

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software development experience using Java
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science a plus but not required
