Purpose of Job

Serves as a key member of the USAA Strategy team and key member of the leadership team for the P&C business. Responsible for driving the strategic agenda around how the line of business will design, review, execute, and monitor towards USAAs strategy and goals.

Job Requirements

• Drives and supports a range of strategic initiatives for a line of business or staff agency, partnering with senior business leaders, and key Business and Staff Agency stakeholders.
• Clearly defines strategic choices and their implications to drive fact-based prioritization.
• Identifies and evaluates business opportunities enabled by partnerships, alliances or technology.
• Translates strategic priorities into a comprehensive, actionable and measurable strategic plan and monitors execution of strategic plan.
• Leads creation of senior executive briefings for the Board, Executive Council, Rating Agencies and other forums as required.
• Communicates grounded recommendations to senior leaders and their broader organizations, influencing upwards and laterally to drive organizational change and alignment.
• Ensures recommendations are driven through to implementation by providing thought leadership and enabling execution.
• Develops and implements analytical frameworks to monitor and optimize the concrete impact technology and digital initiatives are having on member and financial outcomes.
• Builds and leads a high-impact and highly-engaged strategy teams.
• Serves as a resource across the Enterprise to increase broad cohesion for strategic plans.
• Creates and maintains strategic partnerships across the enterprise.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Education:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Minimum Experience:

• 10+ years of progressive related experience setting strategy and leading strategy development within the financial services industry and delivering results within a complex matrix environment.
• 8+ years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams.
• In-depth knowledge of area of responsibility business specific trends and dynamics driving change in this world.
• In-depth knowledge of strategy processes, tools, and frameworks; ability to ideate, develop hypotheses, prove or disprove hypotheses through structured analysis and recommend a path.
• Experience collaborating with key resources and stakeholders, influencing decisions and managing work to achieve strategic goals.

Preferred Requirements:

• P&C industry experience strongly preferred, including P&C personal product lines.
• Skilled at building and using a strong network of relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Experience anticipating future needs, designing strategies, and provoking different thinking.
• Proven ability to lead through change while inspiring confidence throughout the organization.

USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $236,400 - $425,00

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executives only representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based
