What is the key purpose of an Advertising Sales Director?
As an Advertising Sales Director you will join our growing DACH team and focus on building and managing long-term strategic partnerships with Tier I Brands and agencies across the Region. As a highly-valued and proactive individual, you will contribute to Taboola’s growth by advocating the power of our platform within assigned client-direct and agency accounts. Success in this role is based on consistent prospecting/networking and pipeline development, new client acquisition/activation, client retention/growth, and achievement against progressive total revenue goals. We operate in a matrixed environment, with support from a skilled team of account managers, media planners, creative strategists and agency development leaders. What skills and qualifications do I need?
Responsibilities:
- Generate new business and manage a robust pipeline and accurately forecast new business closure rate
- Understand clients’ organization and offer multiple Taboola products to a given client by finding the right stakeholders for each product
- Gain excellent understanding of digital technology, video, and revenue ecosystem to be able to explain product benefits within this context
- Work closely with the Country Manager to consistently achieve and exceed revenue goals.
- Interact with the Account Management team to effectively manage client expectations and ensure successful campaign management
- Interact with our project implementation team to effectively manage client expectations and ensure successful implementation of our products and technology
- Work closely with our Account Managers to manage long-term relationships with our clients Convey feedback from clients to Taboola’s product team re product development needs
- Manage the growing sales team in DACH, help to grow that sales team
Requirements:
- A proven track records in a key sales position, preferably selling solutions to clients
- Must come with experience of directly managing, recruiting and developing a sales team
- Significant experience in structuring and negotiating deals – a must. Such experience within the digital media space – a great advantage
- Experience mentoring sales people and paving the way for them to excellent performance
- Experience independently build, pursue and close a large pipeline of leads
- Technologically Savvy – ability to learn what is needed to support deal’s successful implementation and optimization
- Experienced in building a great sales culture and team camaraderie Ability to work in a fast paced, quickly changing environment and consistently learn, adapt and develop
For this role it is essential that you :
- Bachelor’s degree or comparable
- 6+ years of experience in sales, partnerships or business development in the digital advertising industry
- Minimum bilingualism (English/German)
- Existing relationships with account-level decision makers across Tier I agencies
- Deep knowledge about advertising, media and technology
- Strong business acumen, and an ability to present and communicate ideas/concepts effectively
- Ability to exercise consistent emotional intelligence, professionalism and persistence
- Comfortable working in a team environment
- Ability to navigate and communicate with both internal (Taboola) and external (client) teams
- Prior experience with Salesforce (or another CRM system) and related productivity tools
