Job Description
This position plays a key role in the Mars Wrigley Delivery System 2 (DS2) organization. The Associate will be managing the Material Risk Assessment (MRA) program for Gum, Mints, Fruit, and Chocolate projects. The key functional partners for this role will include R&D, Commercial, Manufacturing, and Distribution. Managing the system includes continuously improving the program for efficiencies. This role is the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for R&D related Systems and Programs (e.g. MRA’s, R&D Specifications, Recipe Management, etc.) representing Mars Wrigley DS2 across all Regions.
What are we looking for?
Minimum
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Food Science, Food / Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years food industry experience or a Science based degree (Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, etc.) with 5 years food industry experience. A significant portion of individual’s experience should be directly related to working with and understanding raw materials. Coursework or seminars in training, project management and / or effective business change.
What would be your key responsibilities?
- Manage the MRA database, draft MRA documents and coordinate MRA team review meetings as needed.
- Understand the stability and quality of raw materials and their impact on finished product.
- Optimize and manage the MRA process by providing full visibility around control of physical, chemical, and microbiological hazards through the entire supply chain to consumption in collaboration with Quality & Food Safety, Commercial and Supplier Quality Assurance.
- Continuously build functional expertise for raw material quality control, food safety, and legal hazards.
- Manage existing MRA’s in Nexus system as needed.
- Champion and drive continuous improvement and standardization for relevant systems and processes.
- Consistently address and follow through functional/technical issues (with users and support teams) to help ensure business continuity.
- Recruit, retain and engage the Key User community to support efficient use of systems and enable high data quality.
- Ensure all users have appropriate systems access.
- Ensure all users are trained and have a clear understanding of current systems usage and best practices in support of current business processes. Ensure updated & accessible systems process and training documentation.
