REPORTS TO: Manager / Sr. Manager, Customer Operations

JOB DESCRIPTION:

SPHE’s Operations department is seeking a VMI Senior Analyst to play an integral role in the Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment of our Key Accounts. This position is responsible for maintaining optimal customer inventory levels to achieve in-stock, fill rate and weeks of supply goals. The results of which will lead to increased revenue, decreased costs, increased customer service, and increased optimization to the supply chain. This role serves as an important touch-point with the customer and provides insights to internal departments regarding product performance.

This individual should also have functional experience in data warehousing/business intelligence and be able to translate business problems into solutions by using analysis tools to find patterns and root causes to problems. This individual must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and be able to prioritize them in accordance with the challenges of a rapidly changing environment.

The scope of the Senior Analyst’s duties requires a demonstrated ability to serve in a leadership position among the Analysts. As such, the Senior Analyst is expected to serve as a role model in the department, perform at a high level of capability/execution, and identify/resolve challenges with minimal guidance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement and execute operations activities to support product placement
    • Maintain all store traits (fixture/space allocation) and store volume clusters
    • Develop, monitor, and revise replenishment plans
    • Implement and execute product placement changes
    • Coordinate with Merchandising partner to ensure optimal execution at retail stores
  • Monitor forecasting models
    • Proactively review account forecast by item/by store - this includes regular root cause analysis of metrics and associated assessment/action
    • Communicate internally any forecast exceptions or adjustments related to baseline, title/fixture performance, promotion/event, seasonality or store count changes
  • Optimize sales to prevent store out of stocks
    • Daily review of operational metrics including in stock, weeks of supply, returns, fill rate and freight spend
    • Analyze sales and stock levels to ensure that reorder recommendations made by the
      system reflect sales trends
  • Monitor product delivery
    • Track delivery of product to store based on order quantity generated and delivery date
    • Liaison between customer and distribution center for any delivery issues
  • Prepare and present account-level business insights
    • Explore opportunities and proactively suggest changes required to implement
    • Prepare summaries and post-mortems for sales, operations, and account review
  • Additional support as needed
    • Regular and ad hoc reports as requested by customers and internal departments
    • Close coordination with IT departments on EDI connectivity and system enhancements
    • Maintain business process documentation and account profiles as needed

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Strong analytical skills with the capability to perform independent data analysis, verification of results, organize into business suggestions, and establish potential plan of action
  • Strong computer skills in spreadsheet and data visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, Access, etc)
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to interact effectively with internal departments and external customers - Includes ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
  • Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported and resolved in a timely manner; vocalizes process optimization
  • Performs complex and highly detailed work with accuracy and precision
  • Actively engages in continuous learning about business process and systems capabilities
  • Exemplifies positive attitude in challenging scenarios

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics or Supply Chain, or equivalent work experience

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • VMI Systems, Business Metrics and Best Practices
  • Business Software (Tableau, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)
  • Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Forecasting and Data Analysis
