The Platform team creates the technology that enables Spotify to learn quickly and scale easily, enabling rapid growth in our users and our business around the globe. Spanning many disciplines, we work to make the business work; creating the frameworks, capabilities and tools needed to welcome a billion customers. The Platform Insights team consists of highly motivated and extremely friendly people, specialising in providing core datasets, discovering insights, and providing guidance related to engineering effectiveness and data-informed decisions across R&D at Spotify. We gather data from our software development processes, the internal tools usage, and our quarterly Engineering Satisfaction survey. We leverage this data to identify bottlenecks, increase Spotify software development effectiveness, and promote data-informedness. What you’ll do
- Conduct qualitative research with development teams to understand their ways of working, their needs, and how our productivity insights are put to use
- Come up with hypotheses, and drive initiatives in user research or data science to validate or invalidate them.
- Help identify our users’ personae and their journeys
- Design and help produce personalised insights to optimize our impact
- Participate in running the quarterly company-wide Engineering Satisfaction survey
- Maintain a strong relationship with other user researchers and data scientists in the Platform Mission and Insights community
- Collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists and team leads across the mission to design and promote shared methodologies to take data-informed decisions
Who you are
- You have several years of experience doing user research
- You are passionate about agile software processes and evidence-based development, with emotional intelligence and a wish to learn new crafts and adapt to new ways of working
- You are used to bridge qualitative and quantitative insights by working closely with analysts and data scientists
- Ideally, you have worked hands-on with software development, or close to software developers
- You are not afraid to try new things, to fail, and to learn from it
Where you'll be
- For this role, it can be within the EMEA region in which we have a work location and is within working hours.
