Job Summary

Responsible for the selection of testing equipment and managing to a capital budget for the test threads. Manages and provides oversight for the execution of detailed testing efforts on new and existing products and services. Monitors testing activities. Implements and maintains technical quality assurance and control systems and activities. Specifies the implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, accuracy and reliability of company products. Oversees the review of engineering designs for quality requirements and considerations. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Develops and manages performance metrics. Reviews end user experience. Manages team which may include exempt and non-exempt employees. Provides subject matter guidance to employees as required. Develops processes and procedures to drive department efficiencies, assist in development and meeting of, departmental budget.

Job Title: Automation Test Manager

Core Responsibilities:

• To play Automation consultant role and manage the team to coach and drive automation development and utilization.
• Develop, design and support of Automation Test Framework and Testing Tools
• Work with Test Leads, Product, design & Development teams to understand the requirements, challenges and translate into Solution.
• Ensure functional validation are carried out through automation within the sprint.
• Collaborate with key stake holders & assist in resource allocation project planning.

• Ensure the execution of In-Sprint and End to End automation successful execution by workin g with the automation engineers.
• Maintain the stability of automated regression test cases.
• Enhance / Improve the framework to make it more robust and flexible based on the agile development environment.
• Build the tools to reduce the automation development effort spend on API automation work.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency and takes initiative.

• Perform In-sprint & E2E Test Automation, review the Automation artefacts from the team to maintain high quality automation
• Mentors team members in relevant technologies
• Practice test-driven development in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Maintains flexibility and reacts to change appropriately . Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

• Ability to educate/train/coach agile teams on best practices, methodologies.
• Research, design and work with management to implement new tools for accessibility

• Manage team of folks to drive the above automation results.
• Serves as a guide and mentor for junior-level QA engineers; provides technical leadership and consultation with regards to practices, procedures and techniques

Technology Stack

• 12+ years of strong background in Automation, functional and E2E Testing experience (White box) on Web / API / Mobile Applications in Ret ail/e-commerce /Telco BSS Space and e xpertise in implementing In-Sprint Automation .
• Prior experience setting up Automation Framework.
• Strong knowledge in Automation of Web Application built us ing latest JavaScript Framework, TestCafe , and concourse.
• Proficient knowledge with creation and maintenance of automated test scripts using TestCafe or Selenium Webdriver / Typescript / protractor.
• Well versed exposure on creating / enhancing Automation fr ameworks, writing scripts (using Java script/ Java) & other Automation artefacts

• Good to have knowledge on React JS.
• Well versed with Continuous integration and delivery, Concourse, Jenkins and other CDCI technologies.
• Experience with advanced low level Java programming APIs.
• E xposure to tools like SOAP UI, Wireshark, Postman.
• Well versed exposure on creating / enhancing Automation frameworks, writing scripts (using Python, Java) & other Automation artefacts

• Expertise in one or more of the following to ols/frameworks is a must: Junit , TestNG , POI / JXL.
• Strong Experience of one or more of scripting and build automation tools (Ant, Maven) .
• Experience in working with GIT , Rally, ALM, Concourse .
• Experience in tool development for automation development, execution and reporting.
• Proficient in debugging & triaging web application issues to narrow down to specific component/area (Frontend/Backend/Data) problem as a root cause & engage the correct team for fixing the issue.

• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills; able to lead cross-functional team triage
• Good experience working in Agile test environment and achieving results with In-Sprint automaiton .
• Strong written and verbal communications skills; able to effectively present to varied audiences
• Strong experience in all areas of software development lifecycle
• Experience in working across cultures and different time zones

• Experience in setting up teams and leading them to deliver
• Proven ability to works with technology partner/vendor teams to troubleshoot problems

Summary:

Creates/Enhances the Automation Test Scenarios, Test cases & Automation for Multi-channel Frontend & Backend applications using industry and Company technology standards. Assesses and certifies the software artefacts developed to meet one or more business process requirement . Helps implements tactical and strategic Test solutions. Mentors, reviews codes and verifies that the Automation artefacts follow the industry best practices and that Comcast coding and architectural guidelines are adhered to. Identifies and drives issues through closure. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing & certifying the quality of software develop ed for meeting the overall/specific Business/Program/Project/Issue level requirements through automation mindset . The selected person should be a team worker who has experience working along with a geographically distributed team. Strong analytical, programing and troubleshooting skills to understand , analyze business requirements and assess quality of deliverables. Flexible to build tools and framework required for successful execution of the project. Should be team player and responsible for Automation solutions and tools devilment.

Skills and expertise:

• Hands-on experience with the Technology stack mentioned above

• Proven experience in building and successfully executing the E2E automation framework.
• Experience with automation tools development to reduce the manual efforts in building the framework, reporting and script maintenance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
