JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated Product Manager to guide, define and evolve the Shop and Homepage vision and roadmap at Marriott. This role is high visibility, responsible for owning the product strategy and definition of a world class customer facing product experience on Marriott.com that millions of customers visit every day to discover the joy of travel. You will lead a team that envisions, evangelizes, and brings to life the roadmap you defined, focused on promoting discovery of Marriott’s hotels and product offerings. You will be responsible for driving new user engagement, shopping/discovery, and finding new opportunities to delight and serve our customers.

You will be the ideal candidate for this role if you are an experienced product manager who can drive business value through a hypothesis driven and customer centric development process, innovating and accelerating product initiatives across the company.

You will partner closely with talented teams across the organization to build large scale customer experiences together that delights travelers. Close collaboration with Design, Technology, Loyalty, Marketing, and others.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Required Education and Experience

  • 5+ years Mobile / Digital/ Technology experience; must have direct experience and fluency with the broader consumer landscape or associate experience and technology platforms
  • 3+ years Product Management experience; portion of that experience leading or managing technology products
  • Direct management of complex budgets in excess of $2M
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and collaborate effectively in a matrix-managed environment, with multiple complementary groups
  • Entrepreneurial, startup attitude in a big company setting, self-starter who takes initiative in an ambiguous environment to generate momentum & positive business outcomes
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret and translate data into key learnings and execution plans that drive business results
  • Customer-obsessed mindset that capitalizes on user data to make step-change experience improvements to platforms, products, and features
  • Global mindset that balances global solution orientation with awareness, appreciation, and adaptability for local market & customer dynamics
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with technologies and solutions that enable mobile & digital experiences for retail, hospitality, and/or amusement/entertainment
  • Experience applying hypothesis driven product development process and focused on driving outcomes via experimentation, iteration and learning fast
  • Excellent analytical skills, a record of driving business value delivery through sizing and understanding business impact and making data driven prioritization decisions
  • Experience in building product/feature roadmaps and storytelling product outcomes to leadership and stakeholders
  • Ability to drive a continuous product discovery approach by seeing the big picture and breaking down product delivery into stages while prioritizing customer value delivery and de-risking solutions
  • Experience in monitoring competitive landscape and identifying innovation opportunities for customer experiences improvement and/or incremental revenue, cutting through hard questions in the business case with insightful data
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to engage in technical aspects of solutions, define requirements and drive implementation
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics /Omniture and other analytics tools to support data-driven product and feature measurement, performance, and iteration
  • Startup experience is a plus
  • Graduate degree in business, engineering, or marketing

Core Work Activities

  • Perform multi-variate tests to validate new ideas and features
  • Serve as a cross-functional leader to collaborate with design, engineering and line of business teams to drive new product initiatives
  • Develop products and services that deliver innovative experiences and at the same time remove friction from the shopping process;
  • Define new product feature epics and stories working collaboratively with business, design and engineering teams to ensure delivery of product vision and roadmap;
  • Create concise, compelling content and business cases to present and sell concepts through to senior management;
  • Integrate data analytics, product metrics, user experience research, competitive and market analysis, and company goals to drive prioritization of product initiatives;
  • Help define product initiatives for new features and optimizations of existing ones; incorporate into product roadmaps;
  • Understand, manage, and communicate prioritization of features, with a mind toward user and business benefits and tradeoffs. Identify market opportunities and define product strategy to reflect those;
  • Lead cross-functional team across multiple scrum teams, environments teams, QA, designers, content editorial for on-time delivery;
  • Perform User Acceptance testing per release requirements;
  • Track and analyze metrics compared to industry benchmarks, publish reports on product performance, trends and risks/opportunities for both short and long term;
  • Coordinate backlog for defect resolution. Provide clear vision and scope documentation, use cases, workflows, wire-frames, product requirements to support development.
