Collins Aerospace is looking for an Accounting Manager to work within highly visible accounting and reporting group who will be responsible for month-end close and oversight of the cash, billing, and AP functions, as well as the intercompany process. You will interact closely with members of finance, operations, and Corporate centralized teams, along with the Corporate Controller’s team to ensure accurate reporting and full compliance with all external standards. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to assist in special projects, process improvements and utilize your problem-solving abilities in a role that is very dynamic.

Position is Currently working remotely. Will need to work onsite in a hybrid capacity in 2022.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversees recording of month-end journal entries while managing a small team of accountants.
  • Supports the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing process and ensures timely completion and accuracy. Including subsidiary support as needed
  • Oversees the cash management process including funding, loans, deposits, and hedging.
  • Manages intercompany financial transactions for multiple entities, cash application, and annual clearing.
  • Supervises AP interface transactions with centralized shared services and billing process for multiple entities.
  • Reviews AR aging supplemental disclosures and Bad Debt calculation prepared by centralized shared services.
  • Supports consolidated balance sheet analysis and fluctuation analysis to formulate a story for presentation of results to the Controller’s office.
  • Supports internal/external reporting needs, such as 10Q disclosures, Supplemental reporting schedules, and Quarterly Accounting Reviews.
  • Analyzes financial results across multiple legal entities with multiple currencies and leads accounting reviews with subsidiaries.
  • Partners with key contacts at various levels of the organization.
  • Participates in process improvements, reporting enhancements and special projects as needed.
  • Manages and analyzes activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control financial resources and compliance with company policies.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve standard work procedures.
  • Supports internal and external audits for process compliance and timely completion.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
  • Experience with GAAP-Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Able to manage multiple projects & deliverables simultaneously
  • Proficient in Accounting ERP systems
  • Experience communicating and presenting to senior and executive level leadership
  • MS Office experience: Excel-Pivot Tables & VLOOKUP, PowerPoint presentation creation
  • Able to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally (when current environment permits)

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA
  • Familiarity with the Aerospace industry
  • HFM, SAP & BW experience
  • Public Accounting experience
  • Experience leading small teams
