Strategic Displays Principal Software Engineer - FDSA SME

This position is for a lead Principal Software Engineer on the Strategic Displays team in the Mission Systems organization. This position has the ability to work multiple domains from a systems and software perspective. These include:

  • Flight Displays Software Application (FDSA) software
  • Ground station displays work controlling Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV)

Role Responsibilities:

  • Leading FDSA development, delivering builds, and providing input for bids/future pursuits
  • Mentoring junior engineers
  • Coordinate across teams, synchronizing various efforts
  • Work within a team that is dedicated to meet commitments, and help each other, but is always having fun ... foosball!

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
    Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
  • Must have strong FDSA development & testing experience
  • Primarily on-site working arrangement; however, hybrid may be possible in the future
  • Must be able to mentor others on the team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with leadership, making successful system design decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, excellent interpersonal skills and proactive problem-solving abilities
  • Must be a self-starter, be able to multi-task, and take advantage of opportunities and events to achieve results
  • C / C++ / Python software experience in embedded mission avionic system(s)
  • Knowledgeable on verification testing, in addition to development
