The Role The Senior Manager of Public Relations supports global external communications and public relations strategy and leads PR execution to drive awareness for the Medallia brand and to support marketing and sales initiatives. The senior manager will engage with agency teams around the world, and partner with internal teams, executives, and subject matter experts to identify, package, and pitch powerful Medallia stories. This role requires expertise in media relations and strong writing and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

    • Help lead development of and then manage implementation of PR strategies and programs.
    • Develop press releases and outreach strategies to support corporate programs, customer stories, major company news, thought leadership initiatives and more.
    • Work with global internal teams and manage external agencies to deliver communications projects on time and on budget.
    • Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Human Resources, and other external-facing teams to ensure seamless alignment of external communications.
    • Partner with subject matter experts throughout the organization to develop PR strategies and thought leadership content (bylined articles, media pitches, external messaging, etc.) across key horizontal initiatives and specific vertical areas
    • Educate and provide council to internal stakeholders on the elements of effective media relations.
    • Oversee the tracking, measurement, and reporting on global PR program with support from agency teams

Minimum Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in a public relations, either in-house or with an agency
    • 1+ years of experience managing PR for a technology or software company
    • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in PR and marketing fundamentals, media relations, research, writing and editing skills

Preferred Qualifications

    • Proficiency with PR measurement and analytics (including tools like Meltwater, TrendKite, Cision, or others)
    • Experience in enterprise technology
    • Experience with large, matrixed organizations or enterprises
    • Experience with customer and employee experience software
    • Able to manage multiple work streams independently and within the team
    • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, especially strong attention to details
