Apple is looking for a Laser Test Engineer to work on research and development of novel integrated photonics devices in sensing applications. You will work within an optical science team and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary group. The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day operation, reporting and documentation of optical testing. Your work will enable fast iteration and be a key enabler for the progress of the larger project.

Key Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have most of the following:
- Experience with semiconductor laser characterization including pulsed and CW testing over temperature; for FPs, DFBs, SOAs, etc.
- Good understanding of a variety of optical measurement techniques, with hands-on experience characterizing optical and optoelectronic devices
- Experience with developing optical test stations and automation of test equipment
- Knowledge of laser physics and photonic integrated circuit
- Understanding of semiconductor laser fabrication process
- Strong programming skills and proficiency in statistical data analysis in Python, Matlab, JMP or similar.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Description
Description As a Laser Test Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities: - Work with cross-functional teams to characterize semiconductor lasers including specification of test plans and providing statistical analysis - Develop and upgrade test methods and maintain the test platform - Standardize testing procedure and data analysis - Work independently to achieve goals and troubleshooting
Education & Experience
Education & Experience MSc in EE/Physics/ME/MSE (plus 2+ years of work experience) or PhD in EE/Physics/ME/MSE.
