In this role, you have the opportunity to The Head of Global Experience Marketing is responsible for the conceptualization and delivery of Philips’ external events, spanning the company’s participation at trade shows/congresses, as well as proprietary customer/new business and internal events. The role also oversees strategy and development of Philips’ Customer Experience Centers (CECs) as well as CEC day-to-day operations. The CECs are leveraged by Marketing and Sales to showcase to customers and prospects the company’s products and solutions along the health continuum, from healthy living, prevention and diagnosis, to treatment and home care. As such, GEM acts as a global center of excellence, offering integrated resources, including a sophisticated virtual platform for standalone virtual engagement and hybrid events, to serve the business needs of Philips’ various businesses, markets and functions and, ultimately, contributing to sales. The GEM team is also ultimately responsible for the formulation and fulfillment of GEM’s key performance indicators, in close collaboration with Marketing and Sales teams for external events and CECs, and with Employee Communications teams for internal events. The head of GEM reports into the global Head of Integrated Communications & Events (ICE), is a member of the ICE management team and leads a global team of approximately 80 Events and CEC professionals.You are a part of You report to the Head of Global Integrated Communications & Events Management and are an active member of the Management Team.You are responsible for

  • Collaborate with senior Marketing leaders to determine events and CEC mix (trade shows, CEC, proprietary, physical/virtual/hybrid) in multi-channel integrated marketing campaigns and to support Account Based Marketing and sales

  • Develop innovative experiential platforms, leveraging optimal combination of industry trade shows, thought leadership and proprietary events enhanced by complementary Marcom, digital, PR, internal/executive communications and content marketing initiatives, and leveraging CECs for optimal impact

  • Activate and leverage new and existing event sponsorship strategies and properties, integrating high-impact innovative surround strategies, multi-media campaigns and hospitality components

  • Deliver superior results (e.g. brand leadership, increased preference/NPS, stakeholder engagement, high quality leads/touch-points) by applying enhanced functional excellence, standardized properties and brand consistency

  • Oversee the optimization of metrics, analysis, Event Management Tools and integration with the company’s sales management processes to effectively measure ROI, achieve cost-savings and drive incremental revenue.

  • Improve effectiveness via right-skilling, process improvement to reduce duplicative and unproductive work, and outsourcing activities to optimized roster of approved vendors

  • Drive the creation of CEC network globally based on business / customer needs (incl. future proof technology solutions)

  • Plan and provide leadership for the implementation of integrated customer engagement and communication initiatives to improve and enhance the perceptions and experiences of customers across the GEM portfolio (i.e. events, CECs, always-on virtual platform)

  • Orchestrate and drive the building and implementation of the infrastructure supporting customer visits and experiences across the CECs

  • In collaboration with marketing teams, promote the GEM capabilities with key stakeholders across Philips to drive maximum attendance of customers and prospects at events and CECs, with a focus on solutions selling to the C-suite

  • Regularly interact with executives and/or major customers. Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers and senior management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization

  • Oversee GEM vendor relationships and a global multi-million Euro budget

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Master’s degree in Marketing a/o Communications preferred

  • > 15 years of experience managing large events and customer experience and / or solutions centers for complex matrixed organizations

  • Solid experience operating at senior executive level

  • Experience in Healthcare or Technology B2B, B2G customer experience strongly preferred

  • Proven experience in virtual experiential marketing

  • Event Vendor/Agency management experience required

  • Strong project management and organization skills required

  • Experience in managing large and diverse teams across multiple regions, including external vendors

  • Practice in developing plans to measure and evaluate event success

  • Ability to combine strategic thinking with effective execution

  • Strong ability to interact and influence stakeholders, including C-suite

  • Resilience and self-awareness

  • Effective and motivational communications skills essential

  • Experience in process optimization

  • Strong track record in delivering results
